    Default WitchKing

    Hey, this is a brag post. Not about any skill on my part though.

    I play as Mordor. In a battle against 2000+ Gondor men (and a general with 3-4 stars), I have the Witchking, another Nazgul, 2-3 units of orc raiders or orc bands and 2-3 scouts shooting flaming arrows.

    It starts like this: I send the melee orcs to engage with the advancing human army. A bit later I charge the archers with the Nazgul as they start shooting. The archers withdraw somewhat and the human general and the Gondor melee units enter the battle with the nazgul and the orcs as the orc scouts start shooting flaming arrows.
    I activate the terror of the witchking (and he has dread 10) and... a few seconds later the units fighting the witchking rout, starting a chain reaction, since the scouts are shooting flaming arrows and I activate the other nazgul's terror ability. At this point, I kill the general of Gondor with the Witchking...
    That was it. Within 30 seconds all the enemies have routed.

    I captured more about 1500 enemies in that battle and lost less than 300.
    The Witchking himself killed about 300 enemies and captured 600+

    Witchking's terror ability rocks.

    Well by the time he buys it there should be other Dread Lords to take his place. Even without the Terror trait,
    a maxed out dread lord will always take the field...

    Yes but the Witchking can use the terror twice. So I use it early in battle, after the charge to demoralize the enemy and then use it again later to completely rout left-overs. And the Witchking has 20+ hp right now. He's impossible to die.

    Die? The Witchking in my campaign has reached scarred, getting +8 hp so he has about 19-20 hp now. And gold bodyguard. I have charged time and again with the witchking on whole armies and he didn't die. And in the very impropable case I lose him in a battle... I'll just load.

    Also... the witch doesn't die from old age, does he? The age limits have been pushed to something more than 60 years, right?

    I don't want to lose the Witch King! ! ! The leftovers of Gondor have managed to rise 5 stacks and I have 3! Witchking is my best general and since he's the general at all the battles, my other generals are stupid!

    In my campaing Witch-King was killed by assassin (probably damn skilled) after fall of Minas-Thirith!

    Propably NOT a skilled one, but a lucky one. A general that good gives most assassins the flat 5% chance for success.

    Still, I'll keep this in mind if/when I decide to play as Gondor and invest HEAVILY on assassins. I'll send an army of them to finish him off before it's too late.

    He dies from old age. Around 90.

    In M2TW vanilla age of 90 is the "auto-death" age. But there's a chance for a general to die once they get over 60 or something.

    What I ask is, what is the age that a general may die from old age in this mod?

    Edit: Yeah, just checked it in descr_campaing_db. It's 90 when they get old and they start dying and max age before dying is 120. So I'm still good. I have to make sure I have conquered the world before WK turns 90. That is about 100 turns from the beginning or something, so I have 40 more turns.
    I'm good. The Dwarves (I have left them for the end) will be tricky though without the witch king. I hope I'll have a large number of trolls to deal with them by then.

    There are 9 Nazguls at some point of the game together? I have 3 and just got the 4th.

    And 9 Nazguls and terror is not just an overkill, it's using stealth bombers against flying baloons.

    He is probably playing RC/RR.

    And while it might be overkill, it`s awesome. I once gathered the nine and seriously messed up Gondor.

    Yeah, the Witchking totally owns the battlefield. Playing as Gondor (RC/RR) I actually managed to defeat him, while he was sieging eastern Osgiliath. The fight was tough, about 1200 gondorians against 4000+ orcs; both generals had max command stars. He and his Morgul knights ran over everything, it took me the entire battle to slay him, thanks to the Guards of the Citadel (if that's the correct name, the improved Gondor spearmen, the ones with the grey cape); awesome guys, I had only one unit of them, they've been fighting in the very front line for all the siege and lost only 2/3 of the soldiers, killing almost every Morgul knight, and the Witchking himself in the end, by themselves.
