    Default Help installing Kingdoms

I just bought Kingdoms expansion, but can not get it installed...

I deleted Medieval 2, folders, cleaned the registry and all
Installed M2 (from Direct2Drive) it automatically patches to 1.03
Then I put in the disk for Kingoms (box version, expansion only)

but when it tries to run it comes up with an error:
Kingdoms requires Medieval II: Total War to be installed

First off are these 2 versions compatible (Direct2drive M2, and Kingdoms Boxed version) From what I'v read other people play them together fine.
If they will, then my next question is... What do I need to do in order for it to recognize M2 is installed?

    ------
edit, this is on Vista and installed in default location
    Program Files 86/Sega/M2TW

When Kingdoms was firdt released, they said boxed and downloads were not compatible. I have heard since then that has been lifted but I can't find a link as to which one and which direction or both directions. I own both boxes so I don't know personally.

In the last year someone else had this and you can search the forum for his info.

after searching around the only thing i can find for certain is that the D2D version is not compatible with any other digital downloaded version

Do I need to unpack anything before I try to install kingdoms?

It does not work that way. You can try to copy the full dvd to your desktop and try the launcher.exe from there. It moght fool it.

The only suggestion I have after that is contact Sega support and make them come up with an answer.
