Default bribed general's kids lose surname

    hi,

i bribed a hellenic family member, but when he got children, they did not have a surname, why?
And how can i make them to have one?
I discovered, that the children all got the trait "krete" like their father, can i add an epithet to that trait, or do several hellenic fm's with different names have the same name?

    I'm playing as the Romans.

    thx

IIRC the RTW-name system creates the name for newborn FM's out of a list of faction specific names. So your bribed FM gives his trait onwards, the children should have Roman names, haven't they?

I do not know how you could change ingame the name of an FM.

yeah, the first names are roman, but they do NOT have a family name
their names are just e.g. : Caivs

They actually won't have a Roman family-trait (aka Cornelii,....) because of the Cretan trigger.
This is like the RTW name system works, sadly, but hardcoded. In EB II the naming will be easier.

no, it's nothig hardcoded there, i simply think, that in EB Romans get their names through these traits, but greeks do not. I'm not sure, but i think the greeks get their names as usually, without trait.

So my first question: Is it so? Or do the greeks get their names through traits aswell?

and my second question: Can you make bribed foreign general's kids take the same family name as their father somehow?

The Romans are the only ones who get their names through traits.

Bribed guys' kids always loose their surname no matter the mod.

If you are the Romans, you could try giving the guy the trait for the Roman name. However the trait system for Roman names is so complex that you just giving him the one trait may cause him to gain weird traits.

Sorry, I phrased that wrong. Meant "hardcoded" by EB naming system, but this evil word is reserved for CA

I would furthermore just echo MAA warning, roman names are complicated.
