    Default Graphics cards with computers

I'm probably gonna get a new pc soon and I probably will buy my PC At comet but the high-end pcs have either one of these to graphics cards. NVIDIA Geforce 6200TC or a ATIX300SE. I'd like to know which is better and why

I just upgraded my computer with the Gforce, and I quite like it. I can play all recent games at high detail too... But I wouldn't be able to compare it to the other. Maybe I'm just easily happy now since I'm used to a Gforce 440 MX...

neither of those two graphics cards are very good anymore. especially for a high end PC. the better one would probably be the ATI card, but even then, you can get alot better cards. you might want to look somewhere else for the PC, or perhaps buy a new graphics card and put it in that one. try looking for a geforce 6600GT, which i got from PC world for £99

    Geforce 6200TC 16, 32 or 64?
The X300SE is actually a bit worse than the 32, and sometimes worse than the 16 version as well.

Neither of these are high-end, or even mainstream. They're as low as you can get and since you're posting in a forum about a game (RomeTW), I seriously recommend you getting a better card. What's your budget (for entire pc) and purpose?

Build it yourself. You'll get better parts, have a faster computer, and generally be much happier with what you have.

are places to buy for ppl who talk pounds i hope one of these places can pre-assemble your selection of components for you, preferably in a shop near where you live. Or you'll have to do it yourself, or ask a friend. Selecting components is not that easy, and requires some reading,

Are your getting just a base unit or you getting new everything (ie. monitor, keyboard, mouse)?

If you just getting a base unit (i.e the box with everything in it, no monitor) I suggest you get a nvIDIA 6800 GT or an ATI X800 XL. If you want to play games at high res, with all the detail up high don't cut back on the video card, memory or processor. By the way are you getting an Intel or AMD CPU?

My computer in Russia is just under 2000$ and has a geforce 6600gt.
I reccomend it, it's a very good card and when it starts to get old, you can just add another provided you have the PCIE slot for it.

You can actually take the card out of the AGP and replace it with the new one--provided you install the drivers BEFORE switching out the cards.

True. You can even get some customer service out of them because they repeat those fairs and most sellers keep coming back because they're selling good quality stuff to pleased customers. I would try to find a shop though, that offers both Individual Components and Assembly. Mail some of the sites i mentioned to see if they offer that, or look around your local city for a shop that does this (best option).

After you found the shop, the members here can help you in choosing the right components, if you give us a price list we can even take your budget into account.

Not sure about the processor, maybe AMD. I'm getting new everything

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...oling_Case.jpg

    - AMD Athlon 64 3500+
    - AMD approved cooler
    - Asus A8N-E nForce4 Ultra PCI-Express Motherboard
    - GeIL 1GB Value (2x512MB) DDR PC3200 CAS2.5 Dual Channel Kit
    - 250GB Western Digital Caviar SE16 16mb Cache SATA-2 Hard Drive
    - XFX GeForce 6800 GT 256MB DDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card
    - Pioneer DVR-110 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter
    - Onboard 6 Channel Audio
    - Floppy Drive
    - Arctic Cooling Silentium Silent Midi Tower Case
    - Seasonic True 350W Silent ATX Power Supply

Ok like this one but I don't get a monitor or it so would I have to buy it Seperatly which I think I'll have to but does that mean I have it fit it in myself or would someone from Overclockers come and fit the monitor and pc in for me. This isn't my final choice but it's my favourite so far
