    Default Eleutheroi Buildup

I was wondering if anyone else experienced Eleutheroi buildup around a province where the Sweboz are located. (Forgot the settlement name)

For me the massive forces brought everyone's activity to a halt, the Romani, Sweboz, Getai and Aedui (even though they are pretty much goners). Unfortunately I had to cheat to clear out the area and bribe the forces then fight some battles to wipe em' out.

After they had been taken out everyone went back to good ol' campaigning against each other.

This is no amok. The RTW AI is dumb, so without this barrier the factions would strictly expand into the woods (ahistorical and it decreases the fun for human). The EB script spawns these defenders, as long as the region is old by the rebels, a FM will guard the city. It seems that in your case these FM's died and new armies were spawned.

The small casse army is probalby bribed, I don't think the invasion script was triggered in your campaign.

Seeing the same thing at the same cities. City has FM yet still spawns masses of stacks. Very annoying to spend 10 turns putting together a stack to deal with them. After destroying 1-2 stacks you do not have enough units to seige the city so retreat to retrain. When you return not only the original stacks have reappeared, but at least one other. Run amok to me!

The script checks if the army is still there, if not then it will either teleport the FM back or if the FM is dead spawn a new army. IMHO the AI must have some good trained assassins there, because the FM is not go to die before his 60's and the script spawns armies with a FM not just troops alone. Maybe you send yourself a good spy to check if there are hired blades doing their business?

In my campaigns I just eliminate them if there are more then one army patrolling around, because this was not intended with the implementation of this script. Try either to get spies inside the city, so you can attack it fast, or try to get attacked while besieging the city.

In my game each stack has a FM, and another in the city. All the units have gold chevrons and the generals 8-10 stars. Have many spies hoping to sneek in and open the gates but didn't see any assassins. Turns out though, the city is their capitol if that is making the difference.

or try to get attacked while besieging the city
What! that's certain death on VH.

Lol, I'd use those armies to get free chevrons tbh! :O

Get one general over there and nickname him CheVron James. Because you can.

Seriously tho, if it's really that annoying just keep wipin' 'em out with the auto_win defender/attacker cheat. So you can keep campaigning normally. =)

    Sweet baby Jesus!

Reminder... don't expand empire near that city.

Wow, it sucks so bad to have an awesome mod, for it just to be ruined by "dumbness". And then to have to use cheats basically just to beat the game "normally" I don't know about you...but it pisses me off to have to use cheats cause the game ain't doing what it's supposed to do....someone should fix that.

Some things are hardcoded into the game and thus not 'fixable'. Personally I only find using cheats 'cheating' when it gives me an unfair advantage I would not otherwise have, if I have to resort to them to 'fix' things in the game I find are unrealistic of ridiculously stupid then its not really cheating.

e.g using the force diplomacy mod to make a faction sue for peace after your destroy their armies and sack a city or two, or using the add_money cheat to give a faction which is doing badly but I want to survive, but not using said cheat to give myself money.

    I agree with your post.

Just had an extremely hostile enemy faction (with which I still shared a border) sue for peace when playing an M2TW mod (TATW). Imagine that. I really look forward to EB II...
