Default Simple Way to add Chalange to the Game

I am currently playing the most challenging and the most fun campaign as Denmark i have played perhaps ever, and its all due to a simple change that does not add any unfair advantages for the AI.

In he Bigger Huger Battles submod And Da Unit multiplier mod, ignasigh has an optional edu to add extra morale to all units to make battles last longer. But what i did not realize is how much more realistic and more difficult the battles become. This could be the bigest difficulty increase i have experienced (except perhaps BGR) garrison script, money bonuses and everything of that sort don't make nearly as much difference in th overall difficulty of campaign as this simple change.

I got really used to taking a single stack and massacring 2 or 3 of the enemies no problem. Often i would be even fighting 2 stacks at once and manage to quickly rout the first one before reinforcements get into the action, making a victory over 2 stacks in the same battle rather easy. Now with increased morale battles last longer, the enemy does not just rout after a good cav flank, you actually need to create significant pressure to make them run, shock infantry with a cav flank will do the job, fire arrows become much more important, and though i win most battles of equal numbers heroic victories are much more rare, and are truly heroic (before every other battle would be a heroic victory). And when the enemy has reinforcements watch out and make sure you cover your back, because they will engage you before you rout the main force in most cases.

I really cant describe how much more strategically i need to fight, and ho much thought i am now puting into my army composition to ensure maximal morale drop. Where as before i could field random stacks provided they had some cavalry and some infantry that could hold the line everything else was optional and victory was a given. Now i made full use of the AOR in RRRC and made the english longbow an indispensable part of a successful army, i upgraded my viking raiders and use them as cheap fast light inf and actually use that speed to maneuver and make use of them. And i actually put thought into using Norse archers as front line archers while longbows stay in back.

All in all it has provided an incredible chalange, large and prolonged battles, and a sense of actual accomplishment when a heroic victory is achieved. And best of all its not sum unfair bonus to the AI but a simple increase of all morale. now you may think this makes your own units to resilient but the truth is before this i would hardly ever be in a position where my units begin to seriously rout because i usually manage to rout the enemy way before this happens so honestly the increase in your own troops in not so important and it gives the simple AI tactics a chance to be equally effective to your own simple tactics so to truly win you must actually use some strategy.

So if you want a simplle way to add alot of fun and chalange i would recommend those 2 mods, or if you dont want big unit sizes or your pc cant handle that you can edit your own moralle in the export_dscr_unit file.

This makes unit sizes bigger? Im looking for a challenge but I want the unit sizes to be the same. Is the regular campaign not challenging enough? I was thinking about just playing the Americas campaign before I download any mods at all .

I wish sometimes I could just give the A.I a flat +5 morale bonus. And yes I know there are ways to do this but I'm too lazy myself
