    Default Fougasse?

    Hi all,

I am wondering about this fougasse feature. Apparently it's only avaliable in campaign defensive battles but I would love to see it in Multiplayer and Custom Battles.

If u don't know about the Fougasse, watch the last bit of this video:

I know that it is not a very tactically 'fair' weapon. But wouldn't it be cool to have a battle with say 8 fougasses and all armies just run over the field together and get blown to shreds. 1 massive massare!!!

I had a recording of a battle with Pirates that ended up like that. Rifles/Lights I used them all to place those infront of my artillery batteries, then run the lights around the flank, the AI rushed in to take down the artillery battries and well over half their army routed pretty quickly after they went off. Artillery never got a single scratch.

No way! Campers are annoying enough in MP.
It would need serious drawbacks like high cost, taking up a recruitment slot, AND being detectable by light infantry.

Fougasse is a French bread, who may looks like to a sandwich with various food on it: cream, cheese, ham, tomatoes, olives and plugs. Its quick and délicious !

Wow my favorite unit Howitzers got 2nd place on that video. All praise the mighty Percussion Shell on the Howitzer. Quicklime lovers eat your hearts out. Video proves how insanely deadly direct hits from 24lb Howitzers can be with Percussion Shells.

Fougasse are great. 2 units of horse artillery and a unit of cossacks got completely pwned when the ran over a fougasse. Excellent to watch.

They almost deny areas of the battlefeild agaisnt enemies.

I also love howitzers. One of my current campaign armies is 8 howitzers, general, horse guards, 3 guards, 3 line infantry, 2 life guards and 2 ghurkas. Rocks in all situations.

In sieges it just blows up everything in forts, meaning infantry fight decimated units.

In defensive battles, obviusly it owns.

In offensive battles, I either use howiutzers to soften up enemy, oor concentrted area bombardment, followed by a ghurka and horse guard charge, supported by a rolling barrage.
