    Default CTD at game start.

    I'm having a strange problem here. Whenever I want to start the game, the era selection seems to be recognized, files are being copied, then I see the loading screen for 1-2 seconds, then I get a ctd. I am using XP, not running on Steam. Might it be my version? I am using M2 Gold, german version. Also had the same problem with DLV Europe. Third Age runs fine.
    Any suggestions?

    Any M2/Kingdoms vanilla modfications done?
    That is the only possibility that comes to my mind, usually.
    So the question: Runs your M2/Kingdoms properly? (and is not modified?).
    Edit: There won't be a language version cause, as i for example have also the german M2/Kingdoms version.

    Another cause can only be hardware/software things, ie. if your graph-card/monitor cannot display picture material, or your RAM/virtual RAM is imcapable to manage the data.

    Yep, totally reinstalling after deleting all files did it. Guess there were some files left from a previous installation or so (but should'nt they have been overwritten? Strange.)
