    Default lost treasury profits

    hi there,

just bought ETW and love it, but i do have one question (sorry if its obvious):

i've have built up quite a nice profit each turn (about 5000 or so) but receive none of that amount. i keep on becoming bankrupt. after about 5/6 turns i suddenly start receiving the 5000, then next turn it stops.

i'm at peace and my trade routes are protected with my fleets in all theatres. the patch is the most recent.

can anyone help as this is driving me mad

    cheers

Are you looking at the unit upkeep of your units? Right click on the unit card and you'll view the upkeep cost. Each unit has a certain amount of money that is required to keep it supplied, outfitted, etc. This is deducted from your treasury each turn.

Maybe you can post a screenshot of your economy screen? Your income comes from trade and taxes. Your army/navy costs reduce your income. Perhaps your trading partners are blockaded? I assume you use no mods, right?

you'll have to check whether your looking at your end of turn profit, or merely the income section. If it is just the income, you'll have to take out expenses of course, as the above members have mentioned.

When ports of your trade partners are blocked, it will affect you two. Also look out for the pirates

You will be very surprised when you look up your cost at how much those armies add up. Armies and ships add up very quick.

As many mentioned, when the ports of your trade partners are blockaded, your own trade ships can't go through (obviously, since it's a blockade). You can see if and which of your trade partner is being affected in the Trade sub-panel. You'll see it at once if one of your friends has all his ports blocked.
