    Default Help switching unit models

    Hi,

I'm playing the Divide and Conquer Expanded Factions sub-mod for TATW which adds a dozen factions to the game and can be found in here http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=262063 . The only problem is that it appears the mod I'm using utilizes an older version of the game (1.1 or 1.2 I think), and since then the mod team has improved some of the unit models.

I would like to import Gondor Swordsmen, Spearmen, Archers, and Cavalry models from 1.4 because the models used in DaC are older ones where the shoulder pads on the aforementioned units look bad (or weird). I've been trying to figure out just how to do that, and I imagine that it's as simple as copy + pasting a half dozen small files. Could someone help me figure out how to do this?

Not quite, though it was an enlightening read if nothing else.

I need someone to tell me where the models are located, and what they're named for the four specific units I listed in the above post. I'm assuming that they're either .texture or .mesh files in the medieval 2 total war/mods/third age/data/unit_models folder but I have no way of viewing those files myself (despite having downloaded four different programs, none of them seem to display those files), so it's pretty much been guess work so far. Once I figure out what the TATW 1.4 models for Gondor Spearmen, Infantry (Swordsmen), Archers, and Cavalry are then it should be a simply matter of swapping them out for the existing ones in my DaC mod for TATW 1.2 (or 1.1 or 1.3, doesn't matter. Either way it's not 1.4)
