Favorite faction

I know there have been many of these but not in a while and the new version is out too. So what's your favorite faction?

I prefer Silvans, High Elves and Gondor. I always play something I'm somewhat related to and the good factions were influenced by European cultures so i just want to play one of them as an European even though playing Harad intrigues me.

I voted silvan, but i "rebalanced" it a little myself
(including forest wardens have 2hp and half unit size and they and the sentinels can hide anywhere)
so, yeah! they're best!

Rhun all the way.. I remain quiet with a few raids with some variag raiders and the occasional attack of the balcoth horde, but as soon as my Dragon-Regiments are trained and equipped.. all hell breaks loose!

If I would play TATW 1.4 for the first, it would probably be Isengard (I prefer evil factions over the good ones). I have never played with SE (don't know why), Eriador & OotMM (waiting for rework). It is actually quit hard for me to choose right now, since I find that most factions are really unique en fun to play with.

I prefer Silvan, challenging start position, can really expand in any direction, amazing archers, and I'm a Galadhrim fan.

Right now I'm ganna have to say the Sylvan elves as they're the only faction I've had a chance to play in 1.4 so far .

My playing style mainly revolves around shooting things from long range as I prefer to avoid casulties and hate scraficing units. Hence while I want to play one of the orc factions I'm not sure how well I'll be able to do it :{

Whenever a flaming catapult shot fries 50 of my snagas at once, I always have to laugh at all the carnage.

If your going in terms of badass generals, I'd have to say Mordor rocks. I just got done facing a Nazgol (hp+8) that was terrably scarred (hp+6), healthy (HP+2), AND had fine armor (hp +4). I mean there's 20 HP right there not counting the bonuses they get for being a general. I killed his entire army then spent the next two or three minutes with him completly encased ta the point that he couldn't move by 5 Elder spearmen, an elder sword, four elder archers and a general before he finally died.

I'm playing Gondor; Aragon just joined Gondor. Meanwhile, Mordor and its evil dominions were throwing fulls stacks at me from thin air; although the Witch King is dead and Mordor seems to be trying after loosing a dozen or so full stacks. I am now the second most powerful faction (after the dwarfs) in the game and in a few more turns it will be my turn to take up the offensive against Mordor (as up till now I was crazily defending). Alternatively I might give Rohan some help and maybe help them recapture some of their settlements as currently they are being annihilated by the Orcs and Isengard. I am just loving all the action as Gondor

Dale or Eriador, hard choice. I guess I'll stick to Dale for now. It looks better (Until the rework of Eriador is released that is )

I would have to go with the general trend. The Elves and the men of Numenor [Gondor] Are my favorite factions to play for several reasons.

I always side with the good, or what is percived to be the good side. Sue me, I'm hardwired to do so, and I couldn't immagine playing as any of the evil factions because I would have an anxiety attack every time I had to go and attack some settlement or in battle I would hesitate on some order because I want the good guys to win. I actualy have the same issues with Harad and Rhun because they are human.

I cannot stand the Dwarf tactics, or the lack of heavy troops from Eriador. The Dale faction has a healthy mix of most units but they weem a bit too far from the action to really be any fun, and only act as a shield againt Rhun for the Silvan elves, which I think makes for a rather poor relationship.

Yeah, just like the plural of knife is knifes. Oh, wait...

I picked Gondor because I'm lame and unimaginative... and because Gondorian units have the best-looking weapons and armor overall. Some may think silver and black is boring, but I think it's a great color combo.

Well, knife comes from Middle English knif, which comes from Old English cnīf, with plural cnīfas (related to Old Norse knífr). So, if you think about it, knifes would be closer to the original Old English cnīfas.
