    Default Trade and flashing icons

I have a few questions about trade that I hope some people can answer

    1. Why does the icons in the settlement details view sometimes flash as though they are about to dissapear?

    2. When do you get penalties for income, is it every 10k? and what are they?

    3. If my mines description says 5000 income why do i only get 1000 or less for each one?

    4. Does population increase increase income, and if so, is there any negative feedback loop with that

5.why does trade income or income in general fluctuate so much from turn to turn?

    Thanks guys!

    Some quick answers:
    1) Flashing icons mean that either the value is being removed this turn (I think). They may be added as well, I'll have to ask more learned people than me for confirmation of this, but flashing "devastation" icons means that they are being removed at the end of this turn. Greyed-out icons means that they are being added this turn (you can check this when you build a trade-improving building).
    2) The penalties occur when your treasury hits the 50k at the end of the turn (maybe beginning?), and the generals in your cities start to get Character Traits that reduce their Management but increase their Influence. 50k for -1, 100k for -2, and 150k for -3 Management.
    3) The mining income is given per annum, but the income shown on the Finances section is per turn, so it should be 1/4 of what is given p.a.
    4) As population increases, the amount raised through taxation increases as well. However, as population increases, then squalor increases (which decreases happiness). Squalor is countered by Health buildings (e.g. sewers, hospitals).
    5) Trade income varies due to many things - building trade buildings in that city, in neighbouring cities where there are trade routes, and whether rebels are on the roads on the campaign map.

    5. A lot of your income comes from farming, this can fluctuate depending on wether there has been a good harvest that year or not.

    3) There's a bug in the income displayed on the building description. The income on the "settlement details" scroll is correct.

Does anyone have any idea why sometimes a building doesnt show any benefit on the settlement details scroll, like a market showing no improvement in income or a healer no improvement in health etc? is it a bug and can be ignored or not? Do the EB buildings generally show correct figures in the settlement details scroll (i.e. the scroll with the breakdown of city order/income)

Have you checked your other buildings? Sometimes one building has a malus to something (which can't go into negative effects). For example, the granaries say that they increase trade but actually decrease it. If you do not have anything that increases trade of equal or greater amount than the granaries decrease than you will have zero trade change. In these cases, building a building with a bonus will only cancel out that malus and things will stay at zero effect.
