Clergymen -do they have a point?

Just started a Teutonic campaign, noticed the unit of Clergymen you start with. They got totally pwned in my first battle (2 left out of 40 in an otherwise decisive victory).

Are they like the screaming women in RTW and give a morale boost? Because I couldn't see anything in the unit description. And did the Teutonic order really take priests out on the battlefield with them?

Btw only clerics effective on battlefield are Norse War Clerics

I would humbly suggest to try out Caesar Clivus' Battle for the Baltic mod. It replaces the Clergymen and several other units with far better troops. Maybe wait a little until BFTB 2.0 comes out with further advancements! Check the submods forum for BFTB 1.0 and 2.0

Actually yes. Three of them, even. Very sharp ones on the points of the corss they wield in battle.
