Default How to change model of Large and Epic Walls?

    Hi,

does anybody know, how to change the battle model of epic and large walls to that of stone walls to prevent the "siege tower bug" to appear?

    OR

Do you know any different solution to prevent the "siege tower bug" ?

    thanks

Well removing the large and epic walls is one solution, heh but not the one you look for I think

You can by remodeling the cas and item files replace the large and epic walls, I know that much BUT I'm not sure the coding of the game will agree with that.
In other words Danny I know its possible in modelling and texturing terms, just can't be sure if you have to recode the game for this as well. I hope someone else can answer that question?

so in fact i just have to rename the files of the stone walls and replace those of the large and epic walls, alright.
But wich files do i have to replace? ^^

I believe if you replace the code of Large and Epic walls in descr_walls.txt with that of Stone walls, then everything will be taken care of.

If not, try doing that then changing the wall capabilities in export_descr_buildings to match stone walls.

    hm,

problem is, there are so many things in that .txt, that I don't really like to change something.
I also think it would better do rename the files of stone walls to that of epic an large wall an replace the originals. But to do that, i need to know, wich files are used. Just need an example e.g. for stone walls.

I'll see if I can post the files I use in my mod at some point. The Large and Epic walls aren't quite the same as the Stone walls - the towers are more powerful, and the walls are tougher - but the walls are the same size as stone walls.

no, they're not the same size, large walls are taller than stone walls, thats why you need these big siege engines, that cause the "siege engine bug"

What I meant was that, in my mod (and XGM its progenitor), Stone walls, Large walls, and Epic walls all use the same models; the only difference is that Large and Epic walls have better towers.

Anyway, here is the relevant file, originally from XGM by DimeBagHo.
The settings in this particular file set the wall models for all walls for all cultures.

I wonder, what would happen if you switch out the BPI for the models. That might make for a good test and go from there.

This fixes large walls, since I believe that is the size of wall that uses medium siege towers.
