Thats still a great PC and will keep you some years my freind and of course you can buy upgrades along the way its a good deal and i would go for that over the other one .

Im not a noob btw i have been working with computers for over 11 years .

Im no Uber supoer duper geek but i know my stuff

That pc is a nice setup and is just a nice one to play many games and also you could buy more parts for it if needed if you really want to just chill and enjoy games and have a decent setup go with this one its got a 1gb GPU very nice 500gb HDD very nice its got a good AMD CPU and has some nice memory .

64 bit OS also a good OS for games.

Dont listen to these guys who crossfire 4 cards and have to have the best these people just waste your time and end up pointing you in thier direction if you really want to get a pc the best thing to do is find one that suits you the best and is better for you then take info from other people my freind.

    Enjoy the week.

    I left REP+ for you

The first one is magnitudes better. I couldn't, in good consciousness, recommend the second one over the first.

From the specs list, these sound pre-built. Have you thought about building your own? Its a lot of fun.

i have looked a little into building my own but i got overwhelmed with all the info, but i might be willing to learn if i can build a good pc for a cheap price

yeah the 1st one is much better but the 2nd one is much cheaper, and at the moment the price tag is the biggest deciding factor

That second computer wouldn't be worth much for gaming. What resolution monitor would you be playing those games on? I ask so I can give you an idea how well those games would perform.

Wow. At that resolution the first rig would max either of those games out. If you would be interested in building it yourself you could build one with performance identical to the first rig you linked for about $700. I've built 3 computers in the last year and prior to that I had little experience on the matter, it's easy and only takes about an hour to do.

I was that EXACT position a few months ago. I went with building my own and I would highly recommend it. You can get exactly what you want, for cheaper. I got better hardware and saved hundreds of dollars by going custom build. And actually putting it together is a great experience- it's pretty fun and easy and you get to learn how everything inside it works. It's really something I'm proud of.

Newegg.com is where I bought all my parts.

$1000 to spend on PC for gaming at 1280x1024 - In all honesty that's to much money to spend for gaming at that resolution lets say you might change your monitor in a years time to a 1680x1050 or 1920x1080 screen it pays to think ahead of time rather then the now.

    Custom Rig

    - Windows 7 64 bit Retail $110 (don't get 32bit and get retail rather then OEM it's worth it as you might change your PC again in a few years and in which case paying a little bit extra now for a retail licence is more cost effective)
    - Intel Core i5 750 $200
    - GIGABYTE GA-P55M-UD2 $78
    - OCZ Gold 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) $73 (after rebate)
    - Antec 300 - $60 (I never get tired of recommending this case)
    - OCZ Z-Series OCZZ550 550W - $60
    - SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5770 1GB - $170
    - Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB - $55 (single platter, really quick)
    - Sony Optiarc 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW - $26

    Total - $832

You could save some money by getting an AMD Phemon II setup but for what you save doesn't make up for the performance hit now that Intel has lowered the price of it LGA1156 chips and P55 boards are a lot cheaper these days. The motherboard I choose isn't suitable to multiple card setups (SLI & Crossfire etc) as the 2nd PCi-E 16x lane only has 4 channels but for what your gaming at (1280x1024) you don't need to worry and the card I choose will is overkill for just about everything and will still be more then good enough if you upgrade your monitor in the future. The PSU may seem a lot of money for what it is but buy a good PSU now and you won't have to worry about if your PSU can cope with future upgrades and will provide a clean and stable power to your PC.

That's a great PC. I'd go with that one, it's tonnes better than the second one

And if you do need any help with building a computer, Wheelchair has a great video tutorial on how to build one. If you need any extra help, don't hesitate to message me

I second all of that, also watch Wheelchair's videos. They were very helpful to me when I build my rig.

A 1gb GT220 is not a very nice card if you are looking at a computer for gaming at the resolution he is.
