Re: AI, And Shells.
Carcass and quicklime are both strong as hell since patch 1.4, quicklime in particular (experience also leads me to believe quicklime is more accurate than percussion, but I can't provide solid evidence). Fire quicklime along an enemy line's flanks and the killing effect of the lime will creep along the entire line, killing or temporarily knocking down dozens. Quicklime can also kill men inside buildings/on fortress walls without damaging the structure as its killing effect goes straight through any obstacle. Why does the AI always seem to use it? Who knows, but quicklime is definitely not crap (though it certainly was in the past).
I wrote a bit on the pros and cons of both shell types HERE. It would make things a bit more interesting if the AI used percussion shells more often. Then again, percussion is pretty easily countered by forming thin columns. Well, more variety is always good!
