Cover only on one side (walls)

I know the cover topic has been discussed at length but all I read is "hold an drag" and it just doesn't work!
I have a wall and are deploying for battle (pre-battle phase), want to use a certain side of the wall as cover and whatever I do, wherever I drag the mouse, I only get one side (mostly the wrong one).
I tried for 10 minutes but to no avail. Interestingly, this problem does not alway occur.

I have patched the game to 1.5. Is this a bug?

Well it's difficult to convey this issue in a screenshot. I have noticed, however, that on another wall on the same battlefield it worked. Weird. I will make a screenie though when it occurs next and post it in the bug forum.

If its the wrong side of the wall dont release the mouse button and move the mouse to the otherside of the wall

Of course I have tried that, basically a thousand times.
