    Default Increase the power or arrows?

    I would highly recommend for the moderators to maybe increase the power of arrows and other ranged projectiles. If you think about it, if I have about 120 arrows rushing at units in mail about 20 are bound to be shot down ( unless in a testudo formation )

    Also, if you have watched Lord of the Rings the Two Towers ( most of you if not all have seen it ) you should recall the part where Faramir ambushed the squadron of Haradrim. You should recall how quickly he and about 100 rangers overtook the enemy. Meanwhile, in TATW it can barely shoot down 10-15 orc scouts per volley of 150 archers.

    Unfortunately the archers got hit by a nerfbat this patch, dont ask me why since they where just perfect before. But you can always increase the dmg they do yourself.

    I have to agree, i think they are too weak now, and where just perfect before...
    Don't know why they were changed again, i'll ask.

    I'll get right on it sir! A moderator's life is a truly dismal one. Not only do we have to soil our hands with spam excretions but now we're stuck doing modding chores.

    I think I'll leave this thread for PB to rage over, just so I could ruin his "sober time".

    recently I had a bridge battle with a militia army of 2800 (10 archer blocks and 8 infantry) versus an orc army of 10400. I won easily due to the devastating arrow barrages so no I think they are fine as is. I would perhaps suggest that the orc morale is too strong, I devastate them and yet (with no general) they hold the line until their generic captain bites it. On another note... there are items that give +1 to attack (horn of gondor and numenorian dirk) and I was wondering if this gives a bonus to your units or just the general? I stacked a numenorian dirk and gondor horn on my general and don't know whether it only effects the bodyguard or all your units? If so my archers are doing 8 damage which is nice.

    They just give +1 command when attacking/defending depending on the item.

    I'm not sure how to mod the damage of arrows, but in previous patches RR/RC has been able to add a sort of knockback effect to the arrows hitting home, more so than vanilla it seems. Maybe this was just because of the extra damage or something else. if it is the damage, What file would this be in? and if it is something else... can someone please help me figure out how to fix it? :<

    I'm in the middle of a vanilla Dale campaign and I'm happy with the archers' performance. They can still wipe out armies from what I see.

    Elvish archer still very strong... =P

    Previously, I used to win battles only with archers. I mean the enemy wouldn't even reach my lines. Now after 1.4, archers still do considerable damage (especially second tier and all elvish ones) but at least the enemy can make contact. At first I didn't like the nerfing, but it is sensible.

    I think the damage done by arrows are just fine in this mod. I hope this won't be changed.

    I will start my own mod and work on it during the entire summer starting from this point. I am learning the basics and plan on releasing it in about a year. It would be very nice for a mod team so if you can help please PM me.

    what folder or folders do you go to modify archer damage?

    ExportDescriptionUnit. Though there could be other folders too that have an effect on it.

    I did not like archer stats either.A simple change.

    Go to your data\export_descr_unit file and go to any faction you want to change,look for this line in archer units.

    (stat_pri 10, 2, elven_arrow, 190, 35, missile, missile_mechanical, piercing, none, 0, 1)

    Just increase the first number to your liking.If you want a harder hit.The best adjustments would the first number and the distance number which here is 190.But there is a limit on distance.I believe it can only go to 234.

    The number 10 is the attack factor,How hard it hits.The number 2 is the charge bonus,The number 190 is the distance the arrow travels.The number 35 is how many arrows each bowmen carries.

    These numbers will be mostly different with different types of archers.You can modify just the ones of the faction you are playing or you can edit all archers if you want which will take some time.
