    Default CTD During Campaign

I posted this in a response to another thread, but I wanted to start a new topic as well in order to be more specific about this particular CTD and to hopefully find a solution in this thread for everyone who is suffering from it.

These are the .log's of my crash playing as Khwarezmian's during the year 1204, I cannot load my save file anymore, it CTD's everytime.

    Here is my system.log: http://www.2shared.com/file/10548764/a9d1e86d/systemlog.html

    Here is my ai.log: http://www.2shared.com/file/10548770/b7a71d35/ailog.html

    Here is my script.log: http://www.2shared.com/file/10548775/c7cde9ba/scriptlog.html

Hope this helps anyone who knows what they're looking for, thanks

[Edit]: Here is the important line of the code:

    00:24:00.975 [game.script.exec] [trace] exec <if> at line 3867 in broken_crescent/data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign/campaign_script.txt
    00:24:00.975 [game.script.exec] [trace] exec <siege_settlement> at line 3867 in broken_crescent/data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign/campaign_script.txt
00:24:01.486 [system.rpt] [error] Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit.

I think there is an error in the script that is looking for "<if>" and "<siege_settlement>" @ line 3867, but when I check "campaign_script.txt" @ line 3867, there is only an "end" command there, no <if> nor <siege_settlement>.

I'm going to mess around with the campaign_script, maybe I can remove that Crusade all together to fix the problem... not sure if that's what it is though because it doesn't only crash at a specific date, sometimes it crashes at 1100's, sometimes early 1200's, sometimes mid-late 1200's.... If anyone knows which script is requesting line 3867 then perhaps we can find the source of this problem there.

There's an "end", because apparently you've started campaign with one script, changed it to the one GV has posted and you haven't restarted campaign - is this correct? I think it is. M2TW sees the old script, when in the new there are no such lines it sees.

New script won't work with old saves. You have to restart campaign every time you change campaign_script.txt, descr_strat.txt, EDU and EDB.

Well after using the new script, I did start a new campaign, to test the campaign CTD I was experiencing, and I still experienced it...

What do you mean by "after using the new script"? Are you using it or not? It's important.

Your system.log keeps tracing the old script of BC 2.02 - the one you experienced CTD with. If you applied new script posted by GrandViZ and restarted campaign system.log should keep tracking new script. In other words, you shouldn't have any reference to the old script in your current log. Now you have.

Current situation is possible only if you use old saves with new script. It won't work this way.

Explain in detail what have you been doing so far. Because apparently you've made a mistake at some point.

Well I played the corrupted campaigns with the old script, the original one, then it crashed and I kept trying to play and it wouldn't work so I searched for answers and then found + downloaded the new script and tried my saved games with that, but that didn't work either. So I started a brand new campaign with the new script (which I didn't remove after installing) and it was still corrupt and had CTD issues.
