How do we know what's supposed to be fixed when the games not been released yet? Unless you're referring to ETW, but then that'd be a different forum.
The extra development time will allow us to finalize and polish Empire, making it the most accomplished and epic of the Total War series." said Kieran Brigden, Studio Communications Manager at The Creative Assembly. "There is a great deal of anticipation around Empire: Total War and we want to ensure that it is the benchmark for strategy games upon its release.

Fixed post. I'm talking about what should be fixed from Empire and implemented into Napoleon.

Perhaps we should remind ourselves that we should ask CA to fix things that cannot be fixed by the modders?

i voted ai a decent ai would be nice and the rest is not that serious or will be fixed by modders or has already been fixed (the units are more historical accurate and 355 units must have some variety)

One of the weakness of ETW was the maps:too few, no bridges, ,no river no complexity...
We should have with the game something to create our own landscape (adding buildings, hills, rivers, grass...) like we do when we choose the units, the late or early period. In brief a map editor who asks you before battle if you want to change the landscape and a possibility to save you work.
Modders won' t be abble to create beautiful maps for ETW, it was too complicated, so I think that the possibility should come from CA itself.

Obviously Empire is your first Total War game.

I agree, I used to be so chuffed when I had trained up an awesome general in RTW, i'd just sit proud as punch reading through his accolades. Was almost a physical blow loosing a good general :p

Also i think i would love to see some more in depth diplomacy. More options. The napoleonic error would be a great game if you could really coordinate with your allies for particular battles etc just like they had to in real life. If Bluche didn't turn up at Waterloo us Brits and Dutch would have been buggered (pardon my french... :p ). Would be good to ask for assistance for battles... no idea how that would be implemented of course.

I don't like how the poll has BAI and CAI as the same option. I know the people in CA have been studying Darthmod, they should be able to learn from it and you bet they will copy a lot of Darth's work. That's a good thing. Therefore, I would vote for improved CAI, not BAI as it's all right with DM - CAI isn't.

Instead I voted for "various campaign fixes", for some reason.

I voted historical accuracy but I am hoping for more immersion, via diplomacy, varied treaties/collations and creating new nations, liberating provinces. Then I would like to see these added as a patch to ETW as well!

i voted for Game realism in terms of battlefield. its just annoying that cavalry is such a bad shot in ETW

certainly AI is the biggest problem with ETW.

On the campaign map: Perhaps it might help if the various AI factions shared some information such as the last known locations the player's fleets and armies locations. This would allow the AI to better calculate the player's strength and would allow better timing for attacks. Often it seems that the AI will get in over its head in a war against the player -or- not attack the player when a golden opportunity presents itself.

In battles: The AI should be given a better variety of open field formations and it should stick to them, with less pointless micro maneuvering. The AI should seek out hills more and actually defend them instead of allowing the player's repositioning to so effect their position that they give up the hill without a fight. The AI should be less focused on attacking the player's artillery or general, and more focused on inflicting maximum casualties -or- on a more tactical retreat when losing.

Why is this a poll? All of those need to be improved.
