How do I summon my Reinforcements?

Hi guys,

When my Reinforcements, arrive, they just stand outside the borderline and won't advance into the battle until a while later...

This is getting pretty annoying... Is there anyway to fix this?

(And no, I don't have my reinforcements controlled by the AI.)

You can only control 20 units at a time. If you bring a full stack into battle, one of your units must be killed completely or rout for your army to be reinforced with a unit from the other army. Under certain (more often not) circumstances its better to let the AI control an army. Im pretty sure there is no way to override this.

Hi there.
Reinforcements works in two ways.
1) as already described by akm9876, if you have an army with only 18 units, two more units are available as reinforcements no matter the size of the reinforcing army.
2) If two armies both under the command of a general are engaged, the second one will appear as a whole army when reinforcing. Armies not under the command of a general enters battle unit by unit only if you loose units in your main army.

Is there a MOD I can use that allows me to control all reinforcements, but doesn't change Vanilla RTW (Patch 1.5) at all?

Also another way this can happe is if your settngs are too high. For instants you want armies on huge scales when you computer can only dish them all out on normal size...

That's usually the reason for Delays of Reinforcements, when the computer can't actually show all the units instead of just having them wait outside.

OP, you can also Withdraw units manually, IIRC, so if you have Archers who are out of ammunition and can't fight, you can Withdraw them to let a fresh unit from your Reinforcements in.
