Default Any way to increase unit sizes?

I was wondering. Is there a way to make units in RTW bigger than those on Huge Settings? Sort of like in ETW, how you could change units to have as many soldiers in them as you want.

I'm afraid that's quite hardcoded. However, I think that the cohort unit sizes are accurate as possible. I'm not so sure about "the thousand nations of the Parthian Empire, who's arrows blot out the sun", though. :sparta:

okay thanks. I was just asking because I heard that for one of the Lord of the Rings mods, there were allegedly units of five hundred soldiers.

    Look at this:

How did he get so many units onscreen at once?

Or he simply used a team of two factions. Not that hard.

if you're computer can handle the graphics needed for a huge amount of soldiers.... just open your data folder/ export.descr.unit file. to the right of the line that says soldier there will be a number like 30 or 40 or 50 or 60. that number x's 4 equals how many troops are in a unit not countaing a flag bearer and officer. 60 is the highest it will go. so for instance you want 240 men in a unit then make sure that number stays at 60. if you want 200 then change it to 50 and so on. and be sure to go intp the game screen options and change the unit size setting to huge or hugest whatever the highest sentting is. after that you can enjoy huge battles of up to 8000-10000 men on your screen. hope that helps

but that will still only keep the unit sizes at the Huge scale. I wanted to know if it were possible to go beyond that, like say, 8000 soldiers under my direct command, instead of relegated to AI forces.

no sorry. not that I know of. Unless you can find a way to control reinforcements. but it looks like at max settins only 4800 in a stack under your command. if you find a way let me know
