Need help with installing!

Hello SS community.
I've been downloading the 6.0 part 1 and 2 and 6.1 patch from Rapidshare.
My problem is however that once i choose to unpack the files with winrar it pauses at around 18-19% and asks (this is translated from Danish, might be why it's a little "rough"): "You need the following part archive/Share archive((couldn't find a translation from the danish "Delarkiv")) to continue the unpacking.

then it lists the path the winrar file is in: "C:\Documents and Settings\ejer\Dokumenter\Hentede filer\Stainless_Steel_6.0_Pt1of2.part2.rar", and then it says "Insert a disk with the part archive/ share archive and press continue - whereas nothing happens.

I'm sorry if it is a little bit confusing to read.
I've tried to google the issue, and I've been searching the SS forum for more than two hours now. I hope one of you are able to provide me with a link or guide, since I'm being kind of lost.

PS. I've got steam installed, but can't use the trick with changing the launcher, as I can't get to unpack the files before it messes up.

Firstly welcome to the SS forum.

Are you using XP or Vista/Windows7? If you are using Vista, please disable the UAC
Do you have to use WINRAR, cannot you not install using the Exe.File?

I'm using Windows XP.
When I've downloaded the compressed files it shows as winrar files, as I mentioned the problem is when i'm unpacking the files. Do you recommend another program to unpack the downloaded files with?

You could try using another program to unpack the files. If that doesnt' work, you might want to try downloading the SS files again as the files themselves may be corrupted.

Exactly as Caesar says, use Mirror 1 with Gamershell, I used this under 6.1 Released Thread, as I it comes with exe.files

Well - Now I've installed it and everything seemed good. But when I start the game through steam, it pops up - shows the Loading menu screen and then CTD without saying anything about an error. I tried to look at the System.log as I could understand that something might have been wrong with it. This is what it says:

Unable to find building_battle localised string 'gatehouse'

Well apparently somethings wrong with some of the files, and I'm wondering if that is causing the crash, or it might be something else. I've installed both Part 1 and 2 of 6.0 and ofcourse the patch in the steamapps\common\medieval ii total war folder.

Thanks a lot for the help Caeser and Joe - I've finally got it to work. I installed everything from 6.0 including patch 6.1 and 6.2(and the small fixes) and then I searched for the descr_geography_new file in my MTW 2 folder and deleted the file. This resulted in my SS now being able to launch without CTD. Hope this can help others who were as clueless as I were a few hours ago
