I haven't made any late era units, but Dome has made some Hussites.

Made a sword today that turned out pretty well:

I may need to thin the blade a bit, but I'll have to test it in game to know for sure.

Yeah metallic parts always appear brighter ingame, especially if you play with the specular map... It looks fine imo.

    Some more variations:

Despite looking very European, these are actually Fatimid swords. At the beginning of our time period, Egyptian arms manufacturing had more in common with Southern Europe than with the later Turkic influenced styles of the Mamluk period. This particular style survived in the western part of modern Sudan well into the 19th Century.

Yeah, I always use the alpha channel on the normal texture to add a bit of reflectiveness which makes it tough to judge beforehand. Like I think this bronze looks too yellow now, but will probably look correct in the game:

Edit: Here is a 19th Century Sudanese example. The medieval version had a blade about two thirds smaller, but they are otherwise nearly identical.

I want to make faces for all the units in the game including the Cumans, but for our first release we will probably have the Rusichi Cuman units.

Thanks guys! Sorry for the silence here for the last week or so. I've been putting all my new images into the upcoming preview which should be ready within the next few days.

Well, I'm done with my part of the upcomming preview and I've had enough time to get started on some more units. So here's a WIP of a unit that won't be in the preview:

They are Daylami from northern Iran. They fought both for and against and against the Seljuks.

I'm picking the units I work on based on similarity in style to previous units so that I have a base to start from, so it might be a while before I get to the Moors because their style was very different. Fairly soon, I'll be making some mamlukes/ghulams for the Fatimids and Syria so I can use some of Pacco's new shields. After I finish the early units for the Fatimids, Syria, and the Seljuks then I'll probably take care of some of the early Christian Eastern units (Armenia, Georgia) and then the Moors.

Thank you for this view into your work, take your time, I'm really looking forward to your units, even if they are not moors!
