[New type of gaming] The Holy Roman Emperor

I started new thread about this new type of gaming which I invented.
Idea is very simple: one player starts a campaign. Immediately when the king dies player saves the game and post the file here. Also with the file he posts something information about the campaign like relations with other factions, crusades/jihads, new King, nobles and maybe picture of own faction.
At least I will +rep people who have taken time with information.
Next player do same thing when next king dies.

So, as the people might guess of the title, I'm going to start this kind of campaign with Holy Roman Empire.
I'm using SS 6.2 with latest RR/RC(oct 30) and without Byg ( I use files with RR/RC with takes it away. Still there is supply system) and I think I will play H/H / large settings.


Rules:
1. No cheating

2. No sending off heirs and other people to suicide missions without good reason.

3. Player must inform next player when is his turn to play (sending privet message or something) and post save game file in this thread. Of course anybody can try the campaign but only one can post next file here so the thread don't get messy.

4. If somebody lose or the save files corrupt(which has happened to me ) then it just happens. No any kind insulting or flaming about it. Then we start new campaign Of course if player lose campaign it's recommended that he give us some information how this happened.

5. If player have corrupted save game files or other reason has stopped playing it's important that he inform other players and especially the next player.

6. If somebody have signed up for king and he don't want to play then next one who has signed will continue campaign.

Signing up for king:

1. Santeri

4. Mr. Tornado

Six will be limit for kings, when all has played we start from first again.
I Will start campaign when there is 4 kings signed up assuming it takes some time to play and people are eager to start.

Notice: Campaign has already started, if there is empty seat you can join in.

Feel free sing up to king(as long as there is place), ask questions, suggest things/rules and start other campaigns.


P.S I think I will start this kind of campaign with TATW soon.

But if you don't want this (I understand, I don't really want to be second anyway) I'll take the fourth place. And maybe you can tell us something about your playing style (taxes, army composition, prefering dread or chivalry, etc)
Edit: do you run kingdoms 1.4 or 1.5?

I'm running 1.4 with golden edition so I think it's like 1.5.
And about playing style: thats the point of this! Seeing others play style and changing it to something else. Anyway, I think I start with by being feared king with high dread and so that there is respected and chivarlous nobles.

Exactly where I can find that? Can't see anything like that in options...

And I forgot to mention that I will play with large settings. I would have played with huge but i didn't mention it so I hope everybody can run with large.

And I'm having some problems with this forum (not connecting) and if they continue I will delay the start.

2. I found in 'Stainless_Steel_kingdoms -cfg' file line "allow_validation_failures". Do you meant that?
3. If you think we play hotseat you have to give me (and to other players) ctg file which allows defending. I had it, but when so that I could defend, but then the patches came and everything went like in vanilla.
4. I hope that everybody understands that this is first time I host something like this and start is little confusing, but don't get mad or anything. Things are going to work out!

All console commands are forbidden? Are "merchant camps" permitted?

Yes, that's what I meant, although it also is there when you start a hotseat. And do you have 1.4 or 1.5 (which is in the option screen, right top corner)

But you can't change it when you start hotseat, right
And I'm still using 1.4 with golden edition, which is latest patch with it.

No, it is surely possible to download 1.5. But if you don't want to, tick "Allow Integrity Failure" when you start the campaign in Hotseat Mode.
Edit: Maybe you can post a savegame before your king dies, just to check compatebility?

If you buy M2TW and want to install kingdoms you must have patch 1.3. Then latest patch with kingdoms is 1.5. But if you buy golden edition, which includes both M2TW and kingdoms, you have some patches already and the latest patch is 1.4.

Ok I'll post the save game so you can test that it works. I try first the normal campaign (not hotseat) because I'm still working on files where you can defend in hotseat... You can find the save file of first turn at the end of my post.

Well as this ain't going to be human vs human it doesn't matter so much. If I say cheating I assume everybody can figure out what that means.

You can disable the console in a hotseat campaign.
Oh and shall I look up the file needed to defend?
Edit: The save game works fine for me, no trouble at all. Probably 1.4 Gold and 1.5 are the same, as you suggested.

Hey, Interesting idea hope it works out
From my experience, 1.4 gold and 1.5 are not the same. You will be able to load a 1.4 save in 1.5 and then when you save it, it will be converted to 1.5.... Also 1.5 will not work wiht 1.4.....

Also why are use hotseat? You are only going to control 1 faction the whole time so you can probably just open a normal game and pass those saves without any problems..

the save works perfectly fine with me! but considering what Ultra_Magnus said we might have a problem the other way round… i skipped one turn and saved it maybe u can try whether it is fine with ur game version.
