    short summary:
    no actual gameplay playable
it seems like you first have to complete the campaign as napoleon before you can play as another nation
    positioning even more important
    weather has a big effect
    officially a standalone-addon

not much news but the you have to play as napoleon kinda sucks

that meant that the journalists were not able to test anything because none of the parts of the game were finished/ready to be tested.

Well, we are about one and a half months away from release, so they have about 3 weeks before going gold. They should be deep in beta testing now. I'd say we best prepare for
    a) a delayed release
    b) an unfinished and buggy relase

or (here's looking at you, Empire) all of the above.

it's a bit late to delay the release

Basically means that CAs propaganda machine is hoping journalists will write something positive about NTW even though they have nothing gameplay wise to give them.
The extra development time will allow us to finalize and polish Empire, making it the most accomplished and epic of the Total War series." said Kieran Brigden, Studio Communications Manager at The Creative Assembly. "There is a great deal of anticipation around Empire: Total War and we want to ensure that it is the benchmark for strategy games upon its release.

I'd wish people would stop saying stuff like this.

CA does not have a propaganda machine working in an evil plot to steal your machine.

Empire: Total War has a 90% approval rating on metacritic. That means people who review games for a living thought it was good.

Now, if you don't think it was good, then maybe YOU'RE wrong. Or have to lower your expectations. Stuff like asking for a challenging AI is just stupid. I've never experienced a challenging AI. For it to be challenging, I'd have to be human like - not gonna happen.

Furthermore, if the game got boring after 300+ hours of playing - then go and play something else.

(most) critics are unreliable and i partly agree about the ai, the only reason why a computer can beat you is because of sheer numbers (exceptions for some bad players) or luck but the ai should at least be able to offer some basic tactical knowledge and the ability to limited reaction to your actions

that the critic couldn't play napoleon is worrying indeed hope that the game won't be too bugged

This preview scares me because the fact CA didn't let them test the day and that you need to play Nappy () first. I wanted to play Russia first.

All other reviews say that you can play as any other nation in the GC when you start off. An this review was probably taken ages ago, just released recently. SO I wouldn't take anything from it!

I can't believe someone would buy a game called "Napoleon" and then get upset that you have to play as Napoleon!

If they ever make Genghis:Total War, would you buy it and get bent out of shape because you had to play a campaign as Genghis?
