Crashing During AI Turn

I need some help! I am currently playing as Rome in RTRPE 1.9 and it just started crashing for no reason in the middle of my campaign...

I hit End Turn and when it gets to Carthage (who I am at war with) I see a diplomat walking to the edge of the Carthage (the city) near 4 or 5 other diplomats and as soon as he gets there the game crashes. I don't know what to do and I don't wanna start a new campaign.

I did all that, i don't even know if i have mod switch or no mod switch. After i did that the game didn't even load up anymore so i installed the old files again.

I am stuck

Right-click on the desktop shortcut and select properties. If the Target line has a -mod: parameter in it, then it's the mod-switch version. Otherwise, it's not.

this is what it says: "C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -show_err

so which one is it? I know its a hassle dealing with someone who doesn't know all this stuff, so i appreciate the help...

If you have the modswitch version, you will have a folder called RTRPE inside your RTW folder.
If you have Barbarian Invasion, you should also see a folder BI in the same place.

Please help this is my first post!

I have a similar problem - during the AI phase of my campaign I get an error message to say that RTR has stopped working and windows is closing it down.

I am playing as Carthage and have no issues with revolts.

I am running 1.9 on Vista, I have changed preferences to compatabililty XP mode but it makes no difference.

First, welcome to the forums. Would we be correct in assuming you are having problems with FOE, or is it another mod such as RTR Platinum?

Hi Clearchus,

it's RTR Platinum v1.9, it has run perfectly but now when I load my saved game and run end of turn it 'stops working'. I'm up to Summer 234 BC if that helps!

You`ll need to choose the right one depending on whether your RTRPE is the mod switch or the non mod switch version.
