Looking for a song

Hey guys. I have this one song semi-stuck in my head, in that I remember really liking it, but I have no idea what it was called. I think it would've been late-90's early 00's, as I would've been around that age listening to it. From what I remember, it was sort of pop-punkish ala Sum41 of the time, gob, etc. but a little harder. I think so anyways. The only lyrics I (semi)remember have something to do with the singer sitting in his room listening to the stereo, watching the kids play on the street. He may have been writing lyrics himself, but I honestly just do not remember. I know its extremely vague, but does anyone have any idea what the song is or even a direction I could go in to find it?

I know this is not what you're looking for, though ive wracked my brains to think of it, but i'm positing it anyway in remembrance of a better time where bands made better music and better videos with $50.00, mom's station wagon and a buncha bikes than bands do today with massive production and studio backing.
