    Default Gordon Brown another revolt.

This guy really can't catch a break, channel 4 news made it seem like nothing will come of this but still, it's a bit of a kick in the teeth. It's seems the Prime Ministers question time today went well then this, tbh I'm scared he might catch a break then the sky fall's down. I really was starting to belive Labour had a chance off clawing back the election but after this who knows...

Yes, friends, governments in capitalist society are but committees of the rich to manage the affairs of the capitalist class.

That's not much of a contest.

    It's hardly a "revolt".

Two disgruntled former Cabinet members decide to announce a leadership bid via text message, prompting the whole Labour Party to collectively facepalm and ignore them. The whole thing fizzled out within a day.

Of course, that doesn't stop the BBC from trying to apply CPR to this dead story - especially Nick Robinson and his so-called 'political analysis'. Political analysis, of course, breaking down in to:

"The Cabinet did not respond to this non-story for literally hours! Clearly this is an indication that they are all secretly plotting against the Prime Minister! Not to mention the fact that, when they finally did reply to this story, they all released messages stating that the Labour Party should ignore these people and focus on the general elections. Yet none of these messages explicitly said 'Gordon Brown is my homeboy and I would go down on him like a half-price Lebanese hooker'! Clearly they are all secretly plotting against the Prime Minister!"

For people who say there's no difference between Labour and the Conservatives this is a clear example of where the two parties are different. The Tories are ruthless when it comes to leaders the second things go bad the knifes get sharpened and when an election draws near those knifes go in hard and a new leader gets elected. With Labour they always keep with the same leader until they decide to resign or die sort of like a communist dictator from the old soviet block and most of the party rules are setup to stop leaders from being ousted.

As for this so called attempted coup the names aren't that surprising - Frank Fields, Charles Clarke, Barry Sheerman, Barry Sheerman, Geoff Hoon and Patricia Hewitt, they have never been Brown fans and some of them feel Brown is getting what he deserves after derailing Tony Blair's leadership.

Despite Gordon Brown's occasional tom--ery he's not a bad leader. He's made some bad calls, yeah, but he also made some decent ones, and pulling the country through the recent economic crisis was no mean feat.

Still, there's probably going to be a leadership change, but while Brown isn't up there with Churchill in terms of leadership quality, he's at least on par with Tony Blair in terms of maintaining the status quo and managing not to up anything too major.

Gordon Brown is a fairly competent politician. Unfortunately in the age of Spin, he can't cut it in the press. If he was Prime Minister, say, a hundred years ago, he would've done well.

Not even that long ago, given how far Brown has moved Labour back to left he would have been fairly popular back in the 70's.

Come on just look at how the Labour party goes about business now since Blair as gone, a number of major banks have been nationalised, parts of the rail network have been nationalised, refusal to make large cuts on public spending, massive borrowing, a 50% tax for those who earn over £150K a year and they attack on the Tories for being a bunch a bunch of out of touch toff's. Do you remember Gordon Brown saying one of the Conservatives polices was 'dreamt up on the playing fields of Eaton' (words to that effect) during PMQ's? If Tony Blair was still PM none of this would have taken place, especially the 50% tax rate as Blair would have known it would have lose the voters who had switched sides to Labour in 1997.

As far as the banks are concerned he didn't have a great deal of choice there, other than to just let them collapse. And there will be plenty of cuts in public spending after the next election, whoever wins.

I for one am pretty much in support of Grodon Brown, sure he aint so charismatic as might be preferred so the general ignorant public don't like 'im /care. He's managed the country fairly well and has made good decisions in general, with a few exceptions. Besides even if i didn't support him I'd probably vote Labour anyway just to keep those bloody Conservatives out of government with all their retarded, narrow minded and short sighted policies of theirs - for examples make your way over to their website, i'll leave it at that.
