I need someone to hold my hand and help me mod this game.

I have searched my brains out, and all I can get are half answers. Everyone here sounds like they are speeking a different language.

Any packs I download have minimal help to aid me. All the read me files assume I know something, which I dont.

Im trying to accomplish a few simple tasks.

#1. I want to add the smoke mod.
#2. Im trying to alter the music with a currently available music sound pack
#3. Im trying to figgure out how to install larger packs such as Darth Mod or things of the like.

To do this I have been reading on here how to install these things properly. Most things seem to tell me to put everything in my data file (path: C/ Program files/ Steam/ Steamapps/ common/ EmpireTotalWar/ data). I do this but I see no effect. I have tried downloading the tool "Mod Manager, 1.5" because I saw somewhere that this tool was necessary to activate the game changes. It's just got me even more confused.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

start here. It is a bit complicated and requires patience and plenty of trial and error. CA could make it easier for us, but they choose not to.

I don't think that's what you're looking for. That's for creating your own mods. Basically, paste the mods you want into your ETW Data folder. It should be in C://Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/empire total war/data. Put the .pack files for the mods you downloaded in there. Then download the mod manager:

Check the boxes of the mods you want, and hit launch.
