Suggestions/Ideas for 1.5

Hey i know im not suppose to post here, but Suggestions thread has like 100 pages and people wont look at my post at the back, so sorry. Don't CLOSE THIS JEAN!

Silven Elves.
Well i just played Silven elves, i know Silven elves arnt suppose to have Calavry at all, and it doesnt say they do in the books. But i was wondering if we could just add some heavy Spearman Clavry or something close to that, just to make it fair to chase down enemys when they almost dead. Cause it would be cool to have Silven elves Calavry; and maybe we could get some Silven elves swordsmen with Shields even though its not in books and so. That would be cool to, it doesnt have to be from the books, its a game ok. So tell me what you think for Silven elves, it would be really cool.

Well, i know this isnt in the books either, its just a idea. Well you know Ithillen Rangers, well maybe we could have some Ithillen Swordsmen or so, it would be really nice, an cool to have that.

So maybe we could think of some other ideas for TATW, so Reply

Silvan HA are perfectly adequate for chasing down routing enemy. They have the fastest horses in the entire game (in RR/RC that is).

I guess I should say "In before th lock" but just to give you some feedback before the mean

mods close this thread: Silvan elves have already one cavalry unit which is quite good in chasing enemies. And Gondor has enough units so why do they also nneed Ithilien swordmen? The Rangers already fight with sword when they are forced to.

i dont know about silvan elves,but gondor need no more units,it has the biggest variety along with mordor

agreed

gondor needs nothing they have the most so far out of any faction but moddor needs new AOR units

I assure you that KK DOES READ the suggestion thread even if he doesn't reply to every single post (heck, in most cases he shouldn't reply at all or reduce it so people don't start accusations like - being strictly opposed to some ideas or favouring other posters among others no matter what they post). Actually if you have just glimpsed through 20 last pages, not necessarily all 100, you would notice latest patch has been influenced by people's ideas.

I know you tried 'good', but poor presentation of your opening post in the thread and it's sort-of needless creation ... it just invites 'in before the lock' responses and crude humour towards you, which you might not like at all

It's the usual courtesy to join other discussion threads if you want to speak and discuss in detail some stuff - for instance, you mentioned about improving the roster of Silvan(Sindar) Elves, why not join this thread? - http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=317040 or post something more vague at pinned 'Suggestions' thread?

Do nothing? They can change the course of battle for you. They're very fast and have long range. You can easily place them behind enemy lines and kill the enemy generals. I don't remember their stats, but from my experience they are not bad at all in melee. And of course, they will chase all those routing enemies. Once you have enough of them, create a stack with only horse archers, and use guerilla tactics (attack, use all your ammo, retreat) to reduce your enemies' stacks before they meet your infantry and foot archers.

And seriously you had the same thread closed a few days ago so why do you open a new one when it is obvious that it will be closed anyway?

I think if the Silvan Elves need anything, its a distinction between Elves recruited in Lórien and those of the Woodland Realm. Perhaps minor stat differences and skin changes. Other than that, they're ok.

Gondor don't really need any changes. Maybe it's time the High Elves got a bit of change in their units. I'd also like to see the sword and shield variety for High and Silvan Elves.

Ok, this is spiraling down into the inescapable chasm of silliness.

Some people avoid the suggestions or ask questions threads because they have a lot of pages which is unfounded. People don't literally rummage through 100 pages nor do threads display pages at random. Everyone reads the last 1 or 2 pages so if you post something there it will be seen. If you don't get a response it's probably because your post/suggestion is being ignored, usually with good reason.

It's true that not every suggestion need go to the suggestion thread but I only tend to leave suggestions that are more elaborate and show they've been actually thought through.

Now Ithilien isn't some semi-independent province/duchy like Dol Amroth for example. It's just a wooded area en route to the Black gate where a bunch of hooded guys go to ambush and shoot the evil dudes. They aren't going to create their own army system with Ithilien Pikemen, Ithilien Swordsmen, Ithilien Cavalry etc. Also aside from being great archers the Rangers are decent swordsmen too. Making a unit that's just like the Ranger but without a bow makes little sense and doesn't bring anything to the table. I could go on but I think I've said enough and it's already been discussed in the suggestions thread too.

As for the Silvans, their roster (including cavalry) was recently discussed here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=317040 No need for that again.

I know it's great when you get "that" idea and it's so awesome (in your opinion) and then you make a thread about it and people come and comment and agree with you and you feel like you've made a difference and get that fuzzy warm feeling that is probably more important than the suggestion itself but you need to learn to stand on your own and deal with reality. A day may come when you're truly alone, parents dead, girlfriend gone, dog ran over by a bus. And when that day comes you will thank me for the mental fortitude I have bestowed upon you today because you will know that the only thread that is always open and there for you is the thread that you yourself cultivate and moderate as part of your personality and character.
