Is this suppose to be like this? I was hoping to at least be able to build some Japanese Ashigaru or something. Kind of makes it feel like you're playing every nation at once if every time you conquer one of their towns you can only recruit their units. I like the idea of being able to build conquered nations units from their city but i would like to build my nations units from it as well. Did i install something wrong?
Yes it's supposed to be like this. In real life you can't conquer other countries and expect to be able to recruit all your units in them.

Ashigaru's are part of the feudal system of Japan so you can't recruit them outside of Japan.

Ok well im glad i at least installed everything alright. As far as the real life thing goes what you say makes sense but if you were to say that the game was real life a country that conquers another means that the old country would now be influenced by the one that conquered it. So keeping with Japan, if they were to conquer say China, then yes units created by Japan in china would not be "Japanese" but they would be armed and trained by Japan. Meaning they would have the same armor/weapons as their Japanese counterparts. So sure you may not be able to build Samurai and such but simple military units like Ashigaru would be created in other countries once they were conquered. Anywho though altogether the mod you have created is amazing! I have been telling my friends for years that i wish i could take some European knights over to Asia and vice versa.

I thought the same about recruiting simple units in other regions or retrain your units. and one more thing some units are totaly useless and or to expensive especially the byzantine and middle eastern units. But yeah the mod is really great!!!!

Yea I just dont feel like my nation is unique if I recruit everyone elses units. And I dont really feel like im expanding when I take other zones and cant even build some of my nations cannon fodder. Lol. Wish I knew how to mod so I could just adjust it myself haha especially since I have been waiting so long for someone to make a complete map of Earth! I want to conquer it so badly but get discouraged after a couple turns and I dont even get to play with my units anymore! At least not without spending dozens of turns to march them across the map from my home region . Everything else is soo perfect though. I love the variation in each nations units, another reason its such a shame you dont get to use them much. How hard is it to adjust the AoR? Is it something I could pick up easily enough to do myself? Im a fairly computer savvy person. I feel bad complaining about something so small especially with such a great mod so if I could do fix it myself that would be great!

The AoR System is controlled by the export_descr_buildings.txt (EBD). Below is a line of code.

    Code:
    recruit_pool "Slav Mercenaries" 1 0.2 2 3 requires factions { all, } and hidden_resource baltic and hidden_resource north
The part in bold is the AoR code. If you delete this then the unit Slav Mercenaries can be recruited anywhere, rather than near Kiev.

The AoR Code for Japan is as follows:

    Code:
and hidden_resource misc and hidden_resource east
Each campaign has its own folder with its own EBD. The EBD for the 1547 campaign is in the 'Medieval II Total War\mods\conquest\data\empires' folder. I'd recommend making a copy of this EBD as a backup. Once you've finished editing it copy the EBD to the 'Medieval II Total War\mods\conquest\data' folder (this is the folder M2TW uses for the campaign).

Got it! Worked perfectly! Thank you. If you could do me one more favor though, if its not too much trouble. Mind sending me a pm with the different factions codes to remove their AoR's too. If its a pain in the butt dont worry about it im sure i will figure it out, im just a wuss and im scared to start deleting coding haha. Also if anyone else wants to know how to remove the AoR feel free to message me and ill tell you a quick easy way to do it!

Any code in the EBD that contains "hidden_resource" is part of the AoR. So you'll need to remove all of it.
Though you may find that being able to recruit almost every unit in any settlement means you have a lot of units available.

At first: awesome mod. I really love it.
But I'm a little bit confused about the loyality of my generals. I play the game-version 2.3.4. My faction leader has authoity of 7 but the loyality of my generals still decrease. I put my faction leader into my capital - the loyality of my generals decrease; I use my generals or my faction leader for battles - the loyality of my generals decrease. And if I put a general in a town for a longer time he get the trait "he is NOT my king".
So my question is: how can I increase the loyality of my generals thou my faction leader already has high authority? Put faction leader and all generals into my capital or what can I do?

Some generals will automatically hate the king no matter what you do. If a general has a high level of command they're also less likely to obey the king. This is to prevent the player using the same general in all the battles to create a high level general.

To make generals loyal you need to make them spend some time in or near the faction's capital, attack the rebel faction, and win battle against larger armies.

Generals lose loyalty if left outside of a city if they're far from the capital; if you lose a battle against a smaller army; the general is pious and the faction is excommunicated, executes prisoners, or exterminates a settlement; and the faction leader has high chivalry while the general has high dread or vice versa. Also Generals get the trait "he is NOT my king" if they're in a settlement and have the trait 'Rebel!'.

How about using a midified version the heir mod to ensure the regent picks the correct family heir?

That is what AOR means. The main reason " to prevent units from being recruited in ahistorical places, such as knights in Africa"

My question is about Crusades. Why can't we call crusade on any faction? It only seams fair to punish catholic misbehaving factions that commit bloodshed on their neighboring faction. Fo instance as Bosnian faction I had two cities and Hungary like 8. I am ally of Papal states and have outstanding relations but Hungary rapes me and they barely loose any standing with pope. But when I went on offensive I got mission from big daddy "stop the blood shed against Hungary for next 7 turns" WTF???? That is not fair!!! Please bring back crusades on misbehaving catholic factions.

I'm confident I have. I just haven't -- you just put me under the spot here, and maybe I'm not as quick on my feet as I should be in coming up with one."
