    Hey all,

Just had a quite funny bug spring itself on me after I conquered the last city of Spain in Europe and wanted to share. After the battle was over and I was examining my units, I saw that the number of men in several of my unit cards seemed to have been shuffled! I found myself with two of my line infantry having only 20 men left (none of my line infantry suffered casualties approaching that in the battle), two of my artillery units suddenly having 60 men, and a couple of my cavalry units' numbers bolstered to 140 and 148 men!

Bizarrely, this phenomenon also affected one of my armies all the way over in America! One of my artillery units now has 160 men ready to man the guns.

Here are some pics! I can upload the save file if anyone really wants to give one of these units a whirl...

Oh, and in case you're curious, the upkeep on these units is the same as one with max numbers.

I had that happen once. The artillery is annoying as they can't fire until all of the men get into their positions, and the extra men don't move until they are ready to fire.

I wouldn't complain about the extra cavalry though.

    *Facepalm*

    This is utterly, totally, absurd.

Had the same thing happen; a unit of Royal Ecossais with 112 men suddenly found their numbers (and experience) swapped with a unit of cuirassiers that only had 20 horses remaining, resulting in this elite unit of heavy cavalry:

To see the unit in action is pretty entertaining to say the least, though I'm always worried that a single volley of artillery will annihilate the unit as they make a large target. They've been whittled down to about 75 horses after a couple battles.

    Hi there.
Nice. How does the retrain work out? Will the cavalry still be that large in numbers?

I've had this happen a couple of times. Each time, it was when an army was reinforcing, and I'd dragged its unit cards around to change the order in which units would arrive. The unit numbers seemed to ignore the rearrangement.

@MortenJessen: retrain doesn't work until the unit falls below what should be its maximum strength.

If this bug could be further documented and understood, it could be put to amusing uses (swapping the unit numbers of Gurkhas with Windbuchse? Winged Hussars? Elephants?)

By god I think you've got it! That's exactly what I did in this battle! Holy crap guys, this COULD be put to great use. I'd love to see a screenshot of a unit with 160 elephants!

Perhaps it could be an idea to put bigger units up as seperate units with a recruitment limit?

Like having a single unit of 120 regiment of horse available?
