    Default Is america worth taking?

Im playing as sweden, and decided to try to colonie some of america. So i sent my navy around and tried to find a good un-colonized region (russia and poland are being a , and dont feel like starting a new war) and there was nothing good left. no money making islands, no remte provinces with lots of furs to trade, just crappy little regions that would cost me more to maintain than they would ever bring in as income. so, is there anywere decent to take without starting a war?

Is that possible? Surely, it`ll start a war with someone.

To your thread question is `america worth taking?`

I spent my entire time fighting the French in my attempts to take America. It took a long time and this allowed the europeans to quietly build up and be a real tough threat later. I only focused on America cos I was British and wanted to help my colonies and not let france or Spain have it, but I`m not sure it was worth the hassle.

It might`ve been better if I had concentrated on India first and taken out the marathas as they always get ridiculously too strong if I don`t intervene.

If you want to colonise, I'd look to India. India has some very rich regions and are more than worth getting into a war over. Try to do this before the Marathans roll up the entire sub-continent but still go for it if they have anyway.

America - not really worth all the trouble of starting a war against Britain, Spain or France tbh because you're then fighting a war in two theatres and your trade routes will be hit hard.

India has 18 regions but very tough Marathans to beat. The Americas have more regions and you can use less forces to capture it. Once developed the Americas will earn you far more money then India. America usually gives me at least twice the income than India.
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.

    Tosa will be missed.

Cuba, Mexico, dutch & french Guiana, Hispaniola - these are great regions in the americas that are easy to defend. If there are pirates you could snap up their lands pretty easily. Go for the spices, gold, gems, sugar, cotton, etc. Furs are usually worth nothing in comparison. Going to war over furs is a losing proposition indeed.

If you cant face an opponent on your own get some allies and protectorates to help!

IS it? Indeed my friend! The british put up a nice resistance but you will find that spain will hardly put up any sort. I always go for india first but usually I take everything from tejas down to south america as it's rather easy to swipe the spanish colonies. The british ones tend to take a little more time and effort.

Its soooooo worth it if you are GB, 'cause the income is high and I only need 1 army to take the cherokee and Irquois. Your main army leaves for India, while you take a new army(made by the recently joined 13 colonies) to challenge Hurons and pathetic-os

I just take a region and go somewhere else. later, I build up that region and slowly attack natives and build more guys in more cities and perfecto! I got a lot of native territory and India(that's why I went to that "somewhere else") and its cost me just a bit. but don't get those colonial powers to fight with you.
    Remember, thrash the noobs first.
