Windows 7 problem

Hello, i noticed a problem in RTR using windows 7 and maybe someone else has encountered it and knows the solution...

I can only interact with the menu and if i click on a character on the campaign map it freezes-but it does not crush!

Also trying to start a custom battle it freezes as soon as the loading bar is completed.

I have tricked some files myself but the game was running on vista.

Also i installed the vanilla to see of the game is just incompatible on win 7 but vanilla worked fine!!!

So does anyone know what would cause this freezing with no crushing and no explanation of a potentially corrupt file?

I think until a few more people get Windows 7, it might be difficult to isolate the problem.
I myself am still running windows XP so I never experienced the Vista software.

Im am surprised that vanilla runs ok and the mod does not though. it sounds more like a faulty download but I cannot be 100% certain.
Perhaps you could upload a copy of your savegame that is causing problems.

Also, could you be more specific about which mod and version you are having issues with. Platinum, TIC or FOE for example

it is the platinum edition. I will try the FOE to see if the problem is resolved. Thanks though!

Probably unrelated, but who knows... Make sure the "Unit Shaders" box under Video options is checked.

I've been running Windows 7 for the past couple of months and have not had any issues with it on any of the TW games.

it was indeed a faulty download. Rome is more compatible with win 7 than win vista and xp! Works great and fast.
