CTD in the middle of two battles?

First was fighting Pyyrhus around Cannae,
Both large armies, there was some lag since I fight on huge...
Everything loaded properly. Toward the middle of the battle about 20 minutes in the screen went black and I CTD'd!

Second was at a river crossing, I had 4 units against a huge missle heavy Gaulic army.
Again I was CTD 'd about 20 minutes in.

This a bug? Whats a solution?

Yeah. It does that from time to time. Solutions:

Reload a save.
Clean your disk.
Check and make sure your drivers are updated.
Make sure you meet system requirements.
Lower the unit size.
Call your mother.

A dev may have more suggestions.

It's a bit suspicious that it's happened 20 minutes into each battle. I'd have a look to see if your system is overheating. A spring clean to remove any dust build up (using compressed air) around the air intakes and exits may be in order.

You've not posted any technical specifications so we don't know if you have a graphics card or on-board graphics.

I am having some of the same issues. I do not believe it is my computer though so I am going to try and do a clean install, will let you know if it works.

I think he meant physically clean the computer, not clean install?

Yes that is what was meant. Open your case take a can of compressed air and remove all accumulated dust and gunk.

I've never heard of anyone doing a 'clean install' using compressed air.......
