I've already seen 'Passchendale' and I thought it was terrible. I've been meaning to see 'Joyeur Noel' are there any other ones.
P.S I've seen 'All Quiet On The Western Front'.

'Joyeux Noël' is pretty decent, but not that much action really; it's a nice picture about WW1 atmosphere.. Then again, it's been a while since I've seen it and I don't really remember that much about it: definitely didn't stand out as much as 'All Quiet on the Western Front'.
Have you seen the Lost Battalion ?
Here's a linkhttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt0287535/

'The Lost Battalion' looks really good, I'll have to check it out +rep.
....Now that I think about 'Lawrence of Arabia' is actually about the First World War.
The lost battalion is average. Lots of action but a rather poor set of characters and the plot could have been much better.
I do recommend it though.

Regeneration (1997), based on Pat Barker's novel. It's about Siegfried Sassoon's protest against the war, which resulted in Higher Command sending him to a hospital in Scotland to silence him, where he met Wilfred Owen. Most of the film takes place in the hospital, very little in the battlefield.

Johnny Got His Gun, though the film's set in WWI, I must warn you that this film is quite disturbing (in a psychological way)

How come no one has mentioned Gallipoli yet?
And no one has mentioned Paths of Glory either.
An amazing film.
Of course it's not recently made but it's excellent regardless.
