    Default Red Baron movie (2008)

Until today I did'nt know of the existence of this movie. I was about to buy it but the negative reviews put me off. It's really dissapointing as the combat scenes shown in the trailer look very impressive.

Has anyone seen it? is it worth seeing? Some of the reviews say the action scenes are the only great thing about this movie.

By the way I'm sure it can't be worse than Flyboys (I saw it the other day on TV). Horrible movie, horrible action scenes, horrible plot.

Sucks baaaad...extremely cliche. Stupid movie....although the fighting scenes were okay, but still not exciting.

It felt like, hollywood was apologizing from Germans for all those WW2 movies. Not recommended.
"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

Actually you're wrong. This film was note made by Hollywood, or any Stuido based there. It was a UK/German Co-op production.

The fact they didn't use real planes allowed them to make the aircraft as nimble as they were during the actual war, if I saw another lets fly straight and slap in some Blu screen WWI movies I'd die. I also loved the fact the movie was based around the "Legend" of the red baron and not the factual one, because really, our world needs legends, not just facts, sometimes the facts can make you hate the legend, and even the person.

*edited* I started ranting... because so many bad mouth this movie when I love it. It's the only Film based in the Air Theator of the First World War I like and I've seen quite a few though one i can't remember the name of. Flyboys I refuse to even consider it a movie. The Blue Max was good, but it wasn't epic at all, and the reproduction airplanes with pilots never allowed that film to really show the war, heck they used late war planes in the early parts of the movie for frap sakes. The Red Baron (2008) is really the only good WWI flying movie out there that expresses the epic size of the battles, how all the planes were not all the same colors, nor were everyone flying the same planes, some scenes even showed random mixes of German/Allied planes in the air, even showed a Two Seater Performing a Scout Fighter like Role which did happen, two seaters were not sitting ducks. Forgot to mention the film has no villian? English/German voice acting was done with primarly the same actors for all the characters as well. The English voices have "REAL" German Accents, and are voiced by the real actors, actually the film was filmed in English and dubed in German.

I watched it. It was they should've spoke in German not English it just doesn't sound right and the special effects did nothing for me and it was cliched.

I thought it sucked from the previews but found the movie to be better than I expected. The ending blew though. But the combat scenes were really intense. For the best ww1 movie try the lost battalion.
