Adding my own flags to Nations?

I'm a true noob when it comes to all this modding and editing, but it's worth a shot to see if it can be done.

How do you add your own flags into game? Say I want to edit the British Republics flag. How would I go about this?

Ok, let's start:

Go and open the patch.pack file located in your ETW data folder.

Find proper faction flag ( *.tga image ) and edit it using simple graphic editor ( GIMP, etc ).

Other flag types ( naval, etc ) are located in models.pack ( another *.tga image ).
