Default Random woods map question, how to see whats going on?

Hi all, just a quick ?, is there some sort of command to remove trees, etc... from your battle map so you can see whats going on? I am playing as Eriador at the moment, have some rangers laying a wonderful ambush, but when orcs are charging my positions I really get annoyed that I can't see whats going on in the thick woods. Is there a way to see better or do you just tough it out?

You already got two of the most brilliant answers ever but I have another one:
Don't fight in a forrest if you don't like trees.

Turn the vegitation detail down in the graphical options, though the trees won't look as nice, you will be able to see in forest battles much more.

From what I understand, modding vegetation is a pain. Or maybe it's that just not many people bother with it, so there isn't much info out there to learn from. It would be ideal to change tree foliage textures to be transparent, if that were possible. I believe there was an Eras mod that had changed trees.

Anyway, AFAIK there is no simple fix. I tend to avoid forest battles, the two things I find useful is zooming in on the mini strat map, to get a general idea of what's where, and hitting that button that makes ally and enemy units flash can help, too. Other than that, as Maca said, turning down vegetation detail can help as well.

Thats exactly what I do also. I remeber that Rome-TW had hotkey button for hiding trees, or am I remembering wrong

Fighting in a densely populated forest also bothers me to no end. Though I've never tried turning down the vegetation detail...

I'll have to test that out~

turning down the veg detail makes less grass or grass disappear and for trees it makes them go 2d but smaller I think.

Fighting in forest just adds variety for me , i love the confusion of not quite knowing if your units are about to get suprised by hidden units , rallying units or flanking attacks you can't quite see .
