    Default the generals

I have always been confused with the traits and the command star of the general.
    First:
Does it mean if one general have more command stars, the troops will fight better?

Secondoes it mean more star more troops?
For the governor, I think they have about 13 foot soldier, for the generals they at least have about 23 cavalries.
But I have seen some general with about 50 cavalries or 20 infantries with them.

    Thanks

First of all, happy new year to everyone on the forum. Much health and happiness to all!
Command stars affect the unit's morale - how long can they fight before they break.
The number of the general's (or governor's) bodyguard is determined by his influence, not command skill. The more influence the character has, the more 'protection' he needs..

    Hope that answers your question.

Wohooo rejoyce, RS II is not far away now...!

generals automatically get bigger bodyguards if they are faction leaders or heirs as well

Several things increase the general's bodyguard size. The faction leader gets 200% the base amount (yes, twice as large!) and the heir gets 150% (an extra half a unit).

Command and influence both increase the size (maybe management, I donno about that) and "personal security" does as well. I suggest you move some of the more constantly available ancillaries (eg: exotic slave from enslaving settlements) over from the main general to the others, so they can get bigger bodyguards as well.

Command increases bodyguard size? Seems you can learn something new about the game every day..

thanks! one question though, how to increase the general/governors' influence? By building the academy in the city?

Academy is useful, but more because of all the +management ancillaries.

What you need is an odeon etc (for the greeks, donno about romans)
You can get the +1 influence poet and actor.
And then there's also the +command and +influence "orator".
