"Terrorist expert" arrested on religious hatred charges

You may recall from one of my threads, one Glen Jenvey, who was the source of The Sun's entirely made up story about a Muslim extremist plot to kidnap Sir Alan Sugar, amongst other people.

His excuse for attempting (and failing) to get a Muslim forum to publish names/addresses of prominent Jews he suggested could be targeted was thus; "With these posts I wanted to see what sort of extremists would be attracted to it, and what sort of threats they would make against Jews". That is, inciting others to racial or religious hatred against Jews.

It looks as if the Old Bill figured this out and have nicked him.

The sorry thing is that some in the UK tabloid media and an MP have made use of this fellow's "expertise". They seem to have got off lightly in comparison.

I agree.

The root of the problem isn't fake journalists trying to make a quick buck by fabricating stories, but mainstream media paying them and presenting them as credible sources.

I'm amazed nobody tried to make this guy out to be martyr or write this off as somehow being muslims' fault. Good job TWC, I'm proud of you.

in any case is religious hatred like a spiritually fueled hatred like religious fervor or is it just hatred of religion?

Surely you don't need to be told why it is a bad idea to invent a kidnap plot in order to terrorize Jews?

A person who uses threatening words or behaviour, or displays any written material which is threatening, is guilty of an offence if he intends thereby to stir up religious hatred.
