Default Which battle scenario have you abused most: spikes or mountain maps?

I normally think that when I play elves and I lay massive spikes during a bridge battle that its just silly how much I bleed the enemy with little or no losses. However I just had a stack of HE and I moved them as high in the mountains as I could right across from Moria, and got one of those maps where the orcs had to zig zag and climb 1,000 ft, while I had archers just sit and launch at will. I left them there for a number of turns waiting for some reinforcements and I wiped 5 stacks of orcs while losing less than 5% of my stack! And that was only from running down with my cavalry and some finally fought back.

Which one have you abused the AI with most?

As a side note, the combo of bad ass archers and spikes makes up for no AP, you just need to choose your battle maps better. The mountain scenario works fine on trolls as well...

For cutom battles i chose a hill and forest areas, ambush units waiting as well gondor works perfect for this with the rangers.

Just to clarify things: Do you believe that stakes hurt non cavalry units? Because they don`t.

I have frequently used the stakes on the front gate as Gondor to help stem the tide from Harad and Mordor. The Nazgul and the thousands of mounted troops that come pouring out of the Harad are taken care of, and still leaves me with 1000-3000 troops to kill [depending on mordor or harad.]

I've used the mountain senario a few times as well while invading the misty mountains as the High elves, but they are elves.. I'm sure they can pick off targets even from way up high.

delicous bridge battles... now I can lay spikes anytime thanks to Faramir's bodyguard. It's a shame they have no cavalry bar the black numenoreans. Guess I will have to wait till the minas tirith invasion for the horse slaughter to begin in earnest.

Once, as SE, a 4000 strong stack of goblins and wargs attacked me in the misty mountains. There was a nice flat bit at the top of a 75 degree cliff, with only a tiny track leading up to where I was! I lined up all my archers and layed stakes across the mouth of the track! So I started shooting, but the wargs were too quick and impaled themselves on the stakes! not one enemy escaped my arrows, as as the ones near the front began to rout, they slowed down those coming up!
