    Please report Bugs of TATW 1.4 in this thread.

    Bugs that are reported with TATW 1.0 - 1.3 won't be considered, since they may have been fixed in TATW 1.4!
    Unnecessary posts that contain no bug report or don't confirm a bug will be deleted.


    Known Bugs



    Campaign map:
    - Imrahil portrait missing
    - Rammas Echor may disappear at a certain angle
    - Some typos in ancillaries (BattleSurgeon, ...)

    Battle map:
    - A nort-european rebel general in Tharbad
    - Faramir has no weapon when fighting
    - Ithilien Rangers have a wrong normal map for their cloaks
    - Dunedain Rangers "spike-bug"
    - Mumakil death animation bug
    - Dwarven Axethrowers throw javelins
    - Ents can't attack Mumakil
    - Ent animation bug after attack move
    - crash in custom siege battles (solution here)
    - Rhun captain noseguard wrong
    - Eldar Lancers secondary weapon texture wrong
    - Dwarves refer to Scotland in speeches
    - Uruk Scouts have holes in model
    - catapult trolls shrink when pushing siege equipment

    - Fixes the missing portrait of Imrahil
    Installation: Download the 1. attachment below and extract it to "...\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age\data\ui\custom_portraits"

    - Fixes the missing sword of Faramir
    Installation: Download the 2. attachment below and extract it to "...\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age\data\unit_models\_units\heroes"

    Faramir has no weapon when he fights.
    And thx for the Imrahil hotfix.
    EDIT: found another one: Imrahil has wedge formation as special ability not the battle horn.
    EDIT2: the Rammas Echor does not disappear for me. So maybe it's related to the graphic settings.

    Just had my first ever CTD in TATW.

    9 turns into Rohan campaign, nothing happening seige/fight wise, just ticking thru the AI turns gets to Harad and get the unspecified error message.... seems odd?

    Reloaded, same thing again.

    Was it intended to receive 3-4 units of Orthanc guards as a quest reward?

    Not really a bug, but a little bit imbalanced perhaps.

    the same happened to me after ending turn 9 in a dwarf campaign.

    I had played Isengart and High Elves before and had experienced no ctd there.

    I get the same CTD's but mine started when i landed on High Elves at first and now it happens at end of turn,maybe the same spot as yours is happening.I can't even get past the turn anymore.I did make it to turn 95.Can't go any further though.I'm disappointed.Such a beautiful mod.Really bummed me out.Wish i new how to take all the graphics and unit upgrades and place them in 1.3.1.3 played much better for me.

    Uruk Hai pikemen pikes texture is missing...
    Pikes are "plastic" black in colour...
    TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
    Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

    IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
    Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

    With low angle perspective there are in some areas little white lines on the terrain (e. g. East Nurnen).

    Thx for the Imrahil portrait.
    I saw te picture already in a portrait-thread long ago and I hoped that you'd choose another one if you'd include him, cause in the books it is written that he had black heirs (and grey eyes). Isnt there another portrait that fits more to him?

    Haldir has no campaign map model, so far he's the only hero I've found without one. (Checked Gondor, High Elves, Silvan Elves, Dwarves, all heroes have unique strat map models, pretty sure Theoden does.)

    Not sure which anc typos you have found. But the Nazgul ring has this entry in export_ancillaries.txt

    Gandalf's portrait in battle (unit card) has a half white, half cream back ground, it is different compared to the other units.

    Also I turned off fog of war and having been watching Gondor (ai) to see if they use their forts around the wall. They don't garrison the forts.

    Custom Campaign/War of the Ring doesn't work. When I select it and chose for example Gondor, it automatically returns me to the black Custom Campaign/War of the Ring screen.

    While defending W.Osgiliath from a Mordor orc horde, I noticed this;

    I might be wrong, but that appear to be causing a good bit of lag, seeing as everything was running smoothly until the entire enemy army decided to rush towards the siegeladders they had put up. Also don't know if this is has anything to do with the new patch, but since I couldn't find anything about this, I decided to post it here.

    Edit: I managed to locate the group to wich the santa orcs (later they were strolling around on the rooftops) belonged to, routed them, instantly the lag disappeared and the strayed orcs came rushing back through the air and began their retread.

    I have this EXACT bug. West Osgiliath, defending as Gondor against Mordor. Battle goes fine, enemy has one ram and one ladder unit. The ram gets to the gate and the boiling oil sets it on fire, so all the orcs head for the ladders. The first unit to try to get up gets hung up in midair and is now jogging very slowly through midair towards the middle of the town. It causes extreme video lag (I went from constant 40+ fps to 1 fps, or more like 0.5 fps). Unfortunately I have no way to attack them to route them, so I'm resigned to simply closing the battle and restarting from the autosave.

    Fully updated Kingdoms played on Steam. Playing TATW v1.4.

    There seems to be some serious misscalculations when it comes to money on 1.4
    As ive once noted in some thread i get double the amount of money when sacking settlement, second amount is beeing payed during the turn change.

    Also i get some weird amounts when i lose a settlement.
    I checked my next turn income which was negative.
    I fought a battle, during AI turn, lost only 3 units of militia and on next turn had 7k income, it should have been even less considering i lost a settlment and obviously those 3 units upkeep wasnt 7k.
    Now i look at my next turn income again and its back to normal, meaning a lil negative.

    Stuf like that keep happening very often, huge amounts just pop out of nowhere on different occations.

    There is no custom campaign in Vanilla TATW. It's a RR/RC thing.
