How to merge two folders from two mods with PFM?

Is there any easy way to merge to separate folders from two different mods (eg one containing info in the DB folder and on in UI folder)?

Any other way than opening patch with PFM, renaming, deleting and replacing files?

Also I am not sure I understand how to create my own folders inside PFM.

You cannot create but add folders inside PFM. In the example you mention, you can extract all the content of the smallest pack in a folder on your desktop. Then copy in there the other mod, open it and add all the folders of the mod you've extracted before.

I've tried extracting and then adding... but I got an error. Do both have to be in the same folder?

Yes they do. Your pack must be always in the same folder with the extracted db, ui, unitmodels, rigitmodels, etc. you want to work with.
