Help finding an error in Desc_Strat

Was messing around with that file trying to lower the number of rebel armies there are.
But I screwed something up...now when I start a new campaing as soon as I click the arrow > to start it kicks me back to the single player menu.

I remeber ususally when theres a text error there was a window that would pop up and say something like;

ERROR LINE 4564 COLUM 23

or something so I could quickly find the problem and fix it..
does anyone know where I could find something like this?

As there isn't an error message it's anyone's guess as to where the error is.

I think it's reinstall time.

Did you bother to delete the map.rwm so that it can be regenerated? A kickback generally gives an error message if you quit the game after it.

While there doesn't appear to be any changes that would change the map the advice florin80 has given is always a first point to resolve easily fixed errors.

Never had a 'kick-back' without an error on exit. Hmmm? Do you have -show_err in your shortcut?

meh I just reinstalled!
yeah I put the show err thing in my shortcut but since it didnt actually CTD me it didnt really help

As florin80 has posted you can sometimes get an error when you exit the game for something that has gone wrong during the gaming session.

Always have the -show_err switch on the shortcut target.
