Any way to run game w/o disk inserted?

Hi,

My computer has recently developed a problem with recognizing disks in the CD-Drives. My Hard Drive fried several months ago, and this problem has only begun since I replaced it with a new one and reloaded Windows, etc. I can get around this by rebooting my computer, at which point it will recognize disks in the CD-Drive for 12 to 24 hours before promptly forgetting that they exist again.

If anyone knows how to fix the above problem, then great! Otherwise I'd like it if someone could help me figure out a way to play Kingdoms without the disk inserted in my computer, and, if possible, Barbarian Invasion as well since I still use that for some older mods.

I hope it's a dvd/cd rom as Medieval2 and Kingdoms are on dvds.

I would say it's time to replace it before it finishes dying.

FYI, anything but the disc in the drive to play the game is illegal and unsupported.

Replace what? I already replaced the hard drive that fried so that's not an issue. Are you suggesting that I replace the DVD-ROM? (Yes it's a DVD-ROM I just wasn't paying attention when I said CD Drive).

And as far as illegality goes, I already purchased R:TW, BI, M2:TW, and Kingdoms. I'm not above fudging on a nonsensical law to play what I have already purchased. The law is there to prevent pirating, and I am not pirating therefore I would sooner take a whiz on this 'law' of yours.

What this moderator wanted to say is that using a cracked exe/ No dvd exe (however this is called exactly) is illegal, and that the mechanisms and techniques to make the game run without a dvd are not to be discussed on this site since game sellers consider it illegal to use it, and talking about illegal things is also illegal. And he meant you should change your DVD drive that is making this problems. Hope that helped.

Read the End users Licensing Agreement that comes with the games and expicitely prhibits modifying the game in that fashion.
