First of all, I LOVE The Office. Thursday nights are like mini Xmases. So far this season has been pretty good, but does anyone else think they're dwelling too much on relationships and that sort of stuff? It kind of seems to me they're recycling a little bit of humor but this time its focused and applied to only certain characters. Is there a little too much Jim and Pam and not enough Kevin and Stan?

(btw, I got The Office calendar for Xmas- pretty hilarious if you were considering to buy it )

I love the office too, and just like you said, Thursday evenings are a special time to look forward to every week for me. As for the relationship-y stuff, I do tend to agree there as well. I think now that Jim and Pam are married, we're seeing a lot of "Pim"/"Jam" as I've seen some critics put it - both of them sit/speak together during a lot of the little "confessionals", and a lot of the conflict that does arise uses their marriage as a catalyst or a jumping point (Michael dating Pam's mom and the Employee of the Month events come to mind).

One of the best episodes this season was the one where they played the dinner theatre game. Outrageously good. It used the entire ensemble extremely well, and that's what makes the office so good - "Kevin and Stan" can be just as funny as "Jim and Pam" when given the proper airtime and writing.

I almost feel like the Jim/Pam [part has been overplayed. I want to see more of the other guys, ya know? Seems like its very lopsided this year. :/

Yep. I thought after the Wedding episode, we might get to see a little less of them, and a little more of the other office workers (and in fact, for the next episode or two while they were on honeymoon, this was the case) but since they've been back they've been featured extremely prominently again. Of course, I don't want to see them gone from the spot light completely (not that I get that feeling from you either) but it would be nice to see a little bit more of the others too.

    Moar Andy plz.

Last night's episode was terrible. Bad bad bad. Some episodes have bored me but I haven't ever fast-forwarded through it all. I waited through a month of reruns for this?

Seriously nothing happened and the only thing I took away from it was how good The Office used to be.

Also, where was Karen in the flashbacks?

This most recent season is fairly depressing.

It's an inevitable aspect of all long-running television series. If you put a bunch of characters together of both genders, the writers will eventually try to form relationships between them in order to be more appealing to other demographics in society, such as women.

All the characters have been bastardized. Michael keeps getting dumber and dumber, Jim is uptight and no fun (and whipped by Pam), Pam is a crazy *****, and Dwight has nothing to do but try out another lame scheme.

    Dwight's storylines these days:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
1.) Dwight walks in and does nice thing X
2.) Cut to talking head where he explains everything
3.) "I'm so clever! Tee hee!"
4.) Dwight spends the rest of the episode grinning slyly at the camera
    5.) "Drat! Foiled again!"
    It's predictable now -_-

The show really has jumped the shark, and I don't know how they can keep going for a 7th season because they're running on fumes right now. Oh well, I still have Season 2/3 to fall back on.

This is true but I hardly see it as that sort of negative inevitability in The Office. Jim and Pam were clearly wrote to be together, I just think they shouldve saved it for the very end of the show like the UK Office did.

They were so much more fun and interesting when they werent together. But yea, past that, the other characters are losing a bunch of showtime really. Its not even much about Jim and Pams' relationship but every episode is now centered on Jim and Michael with Pam and Dwight thrown in there in some way.

Oh... I thought this was the real Office. Never mind. Americans can continue watching their bastardized versions of real television, for all I care. As long as they don't try to re-make Fawlty Towers or Blackadder...

I think you are the only person I have ever talked to who doesn't like Fawlty Towers. That show always brings a smile to my face and I am usually in a good mood for the rest of the day.

I think thats the problem. I do prefer the original version, but I am a fan of the US one. It is getting stale and needs to be brought to a close before they try to milk it too much.

Agreed, there hasn't been any life in the material since Jim and Pam got together. Without their sexual tension the stories are simply dull.

    Happy couples are BORING.
