Wacken Open Air Metalfest 2010

My friend and I are going to Wacken 2010 and we are both very excited, beer, broads, and... METAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i was wondering if anyone else from TWC was going? and what country are you from?

I and a group of friends decided to be there again in 2010. We are people from Norway and Germany. I fúcking did not believe when a friend told me that IRON MAIDEN is going to play there again. I missed them in 2008 (was not in Germany then). I usually go on summer vacation in Germany with a group of friends from Germany and Norway (friends we made there) and visit several metal festivals. The beer is cheep, you can drink openly and all around the clock and there's heavy metal.

For Norwegians who might want to join our trek: We've got 2 mercedes sprinter cars and start at my home near Haugesund on july 29 (one week before start of wacken). We'll go europe way to Oslo and take the ferry to kiel in the next morning so we will reach Wacken during july 30. There's still enough place for 4 people + baggage. So if someone would like to join us - you're welcome!

It might occur though that we will already start july 6 and visit Rock Harz festival. We will know next year.

Oh yes and we are 7 to 8 vikings between 20 and 33 years of age if you care .

I know some people in Germany who are going to this, what bands are there?

I fúcking did not believe when a friend told me that IRON MAIDEN is going to play there again.

That alone is reason to go if I were in that area.

Right now a few decent bands are signed on. A lot of crappy bands though. Not worth a trip atm.

LOL, saw a documentary about that festival showing the whole tiny village of Wacken consisting of mostly elderly folks GOING TOTALLY INSANE!!!

There is my vacation tip for you as well...oh and clean up your own mess.

EDIT: The docu is called Full Metal Village made by this south-Korean woman. You might check it out before going, it shows that village and 60.000 metalheads in complete harmony, fun watch.

I don't know what you think but for me it seems to be the best line up ever to imagine. Although Kiss is missing.
