Has anyone tried to horde in XGM with any horde-capable factions? In particular, has anyone tried to/been forced to horde as Parthia?
I have not played a horde game in XGM, so I'm curious as to how it might play.
Zarax, wasn't that a competition/challenge thing?
It's tempting to hoard them, but I just love the challenge of letting Iberians live while I play with Rome and Scythia...
It would be nice of more factions had the ability to horde. So far only Gaul and Parthia can horde.
I love my games lasting an incredibly long time.
Germans and Scythians can horde? When did this happen?
Question: if I horde and raid until I have tons of money, do my general still receive the corruption traits? Because if it is so corruption can seriously damage the traits of intially good commanders and I think I need every commander if I choose to horde.
Not so sure about the Scythians, but around the first century BC the Germanic tribes Cimbri and Teutones uprooted themselves from modern day Denmark in an almost-textbook example of the kind of movement represented by hording in RTW.
But if you meant when in XGM, I don't know that, lol.
I'm thinking of hording as the Parthians and settling in Egypt or Asia Minor.. any advice?
But that means I have to prepare boats in the Mediterranean in advance, right? Since iirc there is impassable terrain between Egypt/Libya and the rest of North Africa? Unless I go the Asia Minor-Dacia-Gaul-Iberia route, which is awfully far. D=
But yea, it would certainly make a fascinating camapign-- Parthian horse archers and cataphracts fighting alongside Iberian troops. Hmm...
I started a Parthian campaign and I didn't see the 'Horde' button. Does it only appear when you have one city left? Becuase I believe I saw that button in the Gaul campaign and I had more than one city.
I guess this is what happens when you have two XGM installations, one with Alex, one with BI.![]()
you can still do it in the Alex version
1. Gather all your troops and march to the promised land, leave garrisons to hold the old homeland.
2. Conquer your target city - make it your capital (gotta keep the new settlers happy)
3. Sell off/give away/trade all of your old lands for money/new lands using forced diplomacy.
4. Some may rebel.
Save your cash and ransack/pillage as you go.
I did this in one campaign as Macedon and moved to Perganum - giving all my lands to the GCS/ICGS for their cities in asia minor. The gauls conquered pella - which kept rebelling back to me and ate all of the gallic horde armies in the subsequent sieges and rebellions.
Fix the problem, not the blame!
